I have no idea why, but for some reason whenever I click on a folder now it opens it as a search instead of just showing me the contents. Whenever I right click it, search is at the top of the tab in bold instead of open. Is there any way I can fix this? I have no idea what I did wrong.
[EDIT] Sorry, I fixxed it. This post has been edited by Vicious_AD: Jun 11 2006, 07:42 PM |

I found a fix here. He might have fixed it the same way.
The site says that the problem could be caused by spyware. |

clicking folder opens desktop search window
XP Problem: Clicking On Folder Opens Search Replying to szupie I have the same problem however I'm not quite certain that I'm finding the right keys for both of the HKEY's below. Usually when I do a search in the registry I'm confident that I have found the right key and I'm not with this; am I missing something? It doesn't exactly say "directory\shell" or "drive\shell" when I search for the HKEY_CLASSES-ROOT. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\directory\shell HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\drive\shell -reply by Dyann |
