Hi there ...

Well what do you prefer?

I myself prefer a clean interface. Don't really have arguments to defend it, it's just a feeling.

I started this poll because i am building a website (which will be hosted here i hope).
And needed a few opinions about the way its interface needs to be build.
I'll hope you help me out of this decision! rolleyes.gif

When I find some examples i will add them to the post...

I chose other because I don't think that a clean interface and a feature-rich interface have to be mutually exclusive smile.gif. I mean, with a bit of creativity and a good measure of work, you can have an interface that has both a clean, sleek look and a rich set of features.

Of course, when I say feature-rich, I'm not necessarily talking about whirling Shockwave applets or elaborate JavaScript widgets. I'm rather talking about an easy-to-use navigation structure, a well thought-out color scheme, an efficient page layout, and things of the sort. Basically, I'm talking about user-oriented features smile.gif.

I would have to go other as well but leaning towards clean. I hope to break this done as to why.

Clean web interface-

Simple designing aspects, in which everyone won't have to ask a million questions on where to go or just stop going. Couple of click and they are there to wherever they are going to. The only downside is that it's just a very basic site with nothing to show for it.

Feature rich web interface-

Helps the website be more interactive and help those who go there have a fun and yet informative time at your site. Downside to many features in one shot and you will see a drop of visitors, due to the fact that they did everything possible and they got bored and decided to move on.

Eye-Candy web interface- The use of graphics ans special effects to make the website jump out of you. Downside long load times, bad coding could break the design and it could be an eyesore.

So how do you incorporate all three, simple start with a basic design then enhance with maybe a logo and some gradients and toss in a bit of dhtml, javascript and BAM!!! you got yourself a kicking website.

Of course I am leaving out the fact that it is a pain in the butt to get that perfect design. laugh.gif

Thank you for the votes and posts so far (if there are coming more wink.gif)

I think it's better to build the "engine" of the site first and then go for the web interface.
But my strongest target will be a clean web interface, and maybe when i feel like some eye-candy and more features. I'll wait till there are a bit more votes and see what's the biggest demand on a web interface wink.gif

Like saint-michael said, every thing has it's pro's and con's so a good balance between stuff would be nice.

I'll see what time brings wink.gif
