I've installed VMWare5, in the virtual machine, the sound can be played correctly, but can't be record. It can't read from the soundcard. How can I record audio in windows(guest OS) / VMWare / Fedora Core 4 (host OS)

what are u using to play sound . Alsa or OSS . If Alsa is OSS Emulation enabled ?

On my system, FC4 is the main OS. I just run Windows in virtual machine whenever I need to use some app that's for win only.
I don't have any Windows partition here. biggrin.gif

well, check that you have write access to /dev/mixer and /dev/dsp. Also, make sure your microphone is not on MUTE.
