I've seen it before (although it was most likely a joke) of a bloke on the official World of Warcraft fora taking suggestions how to name his newborn child after a WoW character. While reactions shifted from enthousiastic to negative (concerning addiction etc etc) I saw some cool names there like "Nathanos" for a guy.
Anyways, this morning I acquired a new pet. However, I can't come up with a decent name (or rather, assume I can get a great one here) for cuteness incarnate. My plan thusfar was to make pictures, craft a topic and take suggestions. While it isn't as 'grave' as naming a child I hope to find some cool suggestions from several communities relating to the active topics there. As this is a more tech related website, I hope for some cool technology name tips. Name it ! Link a kitten name with tech etc ! I'll try to keep progress up here on what cool results I collect. i'm trying to avoid classic names such as Felix and Minoes. ![]() As with all cats I've had it loves to climb to my shoulder (I just woke up-fuzzy hair ftw)and shout. Doesn't mix rather too well (yet) with the current cat, Pollux ![]() Resembles a kitten I used to have several years ago which was called Groosephy (it's how the mice in Disney's Cinderella pronounce "lucifer" the cat). Another latin/greek mythology name like Pollux (Castor & Pollux - Castor is long since gone) is also an idea. Or something japanese whatever. Isn't restricted to those categories (here tech preferred). FABULOUS prizes to win ! |

If I'd ever get a pet I'd name it Mannfred. That would just sound cool to my ear.

I didn't hear a name like this, it just bumped into my mind all of a sudden. Why not name it Chuffy?

Wow, I collected names from around 100+ posts in less than a day. Great days work
I noticed of course that tech related sites, or boards with an advanced offtopic fora with a lot of random nonsense gave some funny names. Another community where the users read more books gave some cool references from Shakespeare and so on. Yet it is there I got the coolest tech related name. A few names on the list were; Oberon Twinkles Heraclitus Yorick Belus Bundy / Rum Caliban Osiris or Anubis (Anubis is quite good and fits with Pollux) Falstaff Pikitup Gandalf Belarus Havelock Chiyo Mr.Troutwhistle Pixel Maron Fernand Noodles Nietsche Baka Pushkin Azzaro Fiero Chocopousse Styx nacho Edwardo From which I preferred Pixel. Pixel is neat and fits me as a geek. Nacho a close second. A third pic of the cute incarnate ![]() Was definitely a great idea, I reckon I may get some more names (which are good for a chuckle). Anyways I'm very pleased with Pixel, wouldn't have come up with that one myself. |
