First what is Twitter?

Twitter is a unique way of joining website people, cell phone people, and IM people, all answering one simple question---What are you doing?

Some people are baking cookies, while other people are studying their English. Some people are watching Leno, working at their store, or doing an homework assignment.

Supposedly a person could use Twitter to get advice on a purchase of say a specific camera type. So to try it out I cut and pasted about 20 email addresses of friends and colleagues and asked them about the cheapest Internet Service in my local city area. Twitter sent the invitation to join Twitter along with my message and then I hunkered down to wait. And I waited and I waited.......and I waited .....and I waited. Frankly, a week has gone by and I'm still waiting!

Perhaps it takes certain personality types to make Twitter a success. Perhaps I am not one of those personality types. I really thought at least a couple of emails would be returned to me with my question answered. The only thing I can think of is that to my colleagues perhaps they thought it all very silly. I mean twitter sounds like a little birds name.
