Miami attorney Jack Thompson, the man who got the GTA: SA rating revoked, is once again is attacking a hit game with his insane accusations. Since the game came out, everyone has know there is a cheat code to remove the naked blurs, and apparently people have created modified skins and 3d graphing to make the nude models have genitals, nipples, and pubic hair. Unmoddified models appear similar to dolls, with no nipples or genitals. Now raving lunitic Jack Tompson is calling for the game to be slapped with an AO rating.

This is completely insane. GTA:SA was a different story because the content was in the games code. This is completely different because NOWHERE in the code can you find character models with genitals and nipples. This coding was introduced by moddified versions of the original character skins.

It has already been long established that Jack Thompson is a moron. Most people spotted it way back when he had his CBS interview
http://www.cbsnews.c...ain676446.shtml
This is the question that really shows that either A. he doesnt undestand what he is being asked, or B. He is pretty slick and turned the question around to suit his agenda.

Does age or sex play a factor in violent, aggressive behavior?

Sure, the sex and violence centers of the brain overlay one another, which is why the increasing mix of sex and violence is troubling. Armies have been known to go on rape rampages after battles because the violence stimulates sexual aggression. How lovely that GTA weds sex and violence in the same game. We are training a generation of teens to combine sex with violence, just what America needs.

Notice how he picks out SEX and VIOLENCE and then completely fails to answer the question, but procedes with a completely off-topic response.

That man is an idiot to extremes of which I can't put into words. I've been reading alot of info on him lately and I don't see how he hasn't been laughed into submission. I'm fine with people having opinons against gaming, I'm fine with them fighting for the ESRB to be enforced, hell it'd be a good thing to enforce ESRB ratings and maybe even tweak them some. Thats not the point. I just hate it when ****tards like this guy go about spoutting random "facts" that are no where near accurate. When they do their homework and are coherent and sound educated, I'll let them speak and diss gaming till the sun goes down. But if they are just going to ***** about violence in gaming, say it makes everyone kill everyone, and back it up with incorrect pieces of info and try to sound educated when its obvious they were lucky o make it out of grade school, then I'd rather see them removed from whatever position gave them a 'voice' to the masses.

stuff like this is utterly ridiculous! censorship in general has gotten so out of hand! personally, i think censorship should not be determined by attorneys and the government. It should be closer to home and more personal than that. Parents and families should be censoring their kids. Parents should make the decision whether or not their children can listen to/watch/play something. By letting the government decide these things, we're giving them power to rule us. Parents no longer feel the need to watch their children because the government does it for them. Most people argue with this point saying that parents don't really know their children or their too busy at work... so on and so forth. You know what?! If you decided to keep your child, you need to put forth the little bit of effort raising them. People never stop changing and of course when a kid becomes a teenager, they want space. I know... I barely turned 20 this last saturday, but my parents were still involved in my life. I'm very lucky to be in the position I'm in and to have such a close relationship with my parents, but growing up, I watched R rated movies when I was young, depending on the subject matter, I played violent video games, listened to music with the "F" word in it. My parents took the time to get to know me and because of that, they were able to determine whether or not it was okay for me listen to/watch/play something. If it's too much trouble to raise a child, don't have one! All of the stuff like music, movies, and video games get blamed because people do stupid things because they refused to take responsibillity for their actions. Kids shoot up their schools because they listen to Marilyn Manson and play Doom? Um, maybe if the parents took some time to be involved in their kids lives, they would have seen that they were acting strange, something was wrong, their kids were making pipebombs in the garage!!! Kids light themselves on fire because they watch Jackass.... If your kids are stupid enough to do that, then maybe you should make sure they dont watch it! Seriously, WTF!? My younger brothers and sister and I all play the Sims. Hell, even my mom plays the Sims. Just because people are perverted and modify the code so the sims can be naked and be "anatomically correct" doesnt mean that everyone wants to see them naked. I for one, thinks it's hilarious how they are censored. Sex is called "woohoo!" for crying out loud. How funny is that?
Sure, these forms of media are very influential in a person's life, but you know what, if you know right and wrong, there should be know reason why these things should not be made available. Sorry to all of you, I apologize for the long post, but this subject really gets to me. :)

This Jack Thomspon guy looks like more of a douche bag the more of his material you read. He has an obviously personal vendetta against the gaming industry (*cough money and power with Hillary Clinton's campaign COUGH*) and he is simply lacking anything of substantiality. There are numerous sites with his replies to emails that ppl sent him. Now, understandably he would reply with form letters as I'm sure he gets his share of hate mail recently, but some of them are ludacris, especially for a lawyer to say. Comparing gamers to Saddam Hussein, saying he's going to destory gaming... it's all rediculous.

I don't think he's clued in that IF he somehow destroyed the gaming industry, the world's economy would be temporarly in chaos since it IS the largest entertainment industry currently. Economies don't like randomly dropping that big of a cash flow :|

But yes, to sum it up, he pisses me off more then anyone has in a long time. Not because he hates videogames, or is fighting against them, but because he is that idiotic that his arguments falter at a moments glance.

Oh, and now theres a (72? year old) woman trying to sue Take-Two because she gave her FOURTEEN year old grandson GTA San Andreas... hope she gets laughed out of court for not reading the 17+ warning on it. The whole anti-game stupidity the last couple weeks has me ranting more then I can handle.. I'm break it off here. I'll probably ramble more about stupid things I've read later and throw up some links to "interesting" or "annoying" articles haha

it is pretty entertaining when you can take off the blur and move your sim outside while theyre showering. but it really annoys me when perverts have to get involved (ha ha, like theres worse than removingthe blur) and then... grrr. i dont even want to talk about it anymore. lamers have to mess it up for the cool people.

Sims 2 could be equally as bad...in theory...because our tard of a culture seems to think sex is worse then violence...so once you can have sex in both and see things (OMG) then the violence is irrelevant beause some boobies are flying. *shakes head in annoyance at the idiots of the world*

I am contiuously amazed at how moronic this guy is. From what I have read of his, he is like a child. He is know to respond to some emails (if you can call his nonsense a response) so I emailed him a couple of days ago asking him about his CBS interview, so maybe by a small chance he will respond.

go to StopKill.com for contact information. I think this is his official website. Im sure he gets a lot of hatemail. And I dont think its such a good idea on his part to be giving out his mailing adress and phone number.

They also gave him a good bashing over at wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia....pson_(attorney)

My guess is he is just trying to make a name for himself after his devistating political loss to Janet Reno

The responses he's made to emails I've read about were pathetic at best. If they weren't form letters which were insulting and lacking intellectual content (even ignoring how they rarely touched on the content of the mail to which they were replying) he would reply in such a fashion that often insulted the sender, or simply exclaimed how he would "destory the gaming industry" or that the writer should "give up feeble attempts at harassing him". The guy should be poked in the eye with a trout...or something of equal punishment value

Okay, grrrrrrrrrrr! GTA:SA only had the scene that got it the AO rating from an illegal download. So you had to download that clip illegally to even make it AO. I swear, if he messes with the Sims 2, I'll go off. The Sims 2 is my baby, I love playing that game and you could download the same type of skins with the Sims. Tim has worked so hard to make it a T rating. The whole crew was just trying to make sure that the players had fun with it, but they didn't want to add unessacary detail like what Jack is flipping out over. If you download the skins, its your problem, and the sites that contain these downloads should have an AO rating on them so that teens know what they are getting into. Most download sites have you register now so that they know your age, and they filter out all the AO stuff so you don't even know its there. Therefore, you don't know what you are missing out on. I honestly think that this is a good idea. This still pisses me off though. This reminds me of accusationg on Harry Potter, saying that the whole book had words in it refering to drugs. The only people who can find such things in books and games made for children and teenagers should pull their minds out of the gutter. I don't think that anything is safe as long as these perverts are out there. Next thing you know, they're going to say soemthing about Blue Clue's and Dora the Explorer. I understand that people make stupid little cartoons or innocent kid show characters and turn it into something perverted, but these are not to be blamed on the creators of the show. The same should go for games. If it doesn't come with the game, then the game should not be held responsible. The only person who should be punished, if any, is the one providing the download. I'm with you all, Jack Tompson is a complete idiot. The Sims 2 is far from being a porn offering.

thank god for like-minded thinkers! i totally agree with you... people just try to find a reason to destroy something so they can gain some kind of heroism out of it... in the end, they don't realize that most people are smarter than them....

I can clearly see that Jack Thompson is just blurting out stuff. His mouth moves quicker than his brain. He needs to play the game thoroughly and give a proper response to what he has been given.

Yeah, The Sims 2 can induce sick thoughts and allow someone to visualize themselves or their friend kissing, making out, or having a WooHoo! Let's just hope they don't try to do a public WooHoo! It's just... plain perverted and stupid.

You can blame EA a little bit. Why put that content there in the first place? I mean, some innocent kid who is trying out the game discovers "kissing". So he's like, "Cool! Maybe I should try it on my sister..." Okay, these are wrong thoughts but it can happen to an innocent kid who doesn't know between wrong and right.

The only person who should be punished, if any, is the one providing the download.

Yes. Quite true. EA should be held responsible for putting those kind of stuff in the first place. Jack Thompson has the right to complain and accuse but his accusations and complaints were denied. Why? The Sims 2 doesn't have models with breasts nor genitals. But he got something right: it should be played by mature people.

This is total BS! Doesn't make sense whatsoever. I've played the Sims. Although I got bored of it quite quickly, I didn't see anything that could actually cause a furore such as this. IMO, this dumbf*** is actually giving it publicity by dragging it out into the open like this. A mod developed by someone and placed for a download is not the same as forcing it to people. If someone downloads it, it's only because he/she wants to. No one is forcing them. I think the parents are responsible (if at all!!!) if their children download this patch. I feel kids of 15 years and older are not 'mere' kids anymore. Come on, we're not living in the Dark Ages anymore. Explicit content is shown everyday on TV itself. Go to a movie... sex and violence are the themes of the day.

Parents should know what's good for their kids and what's not. There is no justification in blaming the Company that made the game. It is they who have neglected to monitor their children's activities and not spending enough time with them.

Oh god, not more of this man, I remember reading about this while ago, don't get me started on him, me and Jack have had some nice correspondance over e-mails, and he is able to 1. Be an ignorant you know what 2. Beat around the bush and not directly answer questions 3. Insult me and tell me to get a life (well that might be true but...still...) 4. Tell me I am the devil's minion 5. Sling more bible crap at me (btw religion is not supposed to mingle with politics in America, not that it doesn't but...yeah...) 6. Continually talk about how the Army could train with GTA 7. Talk about how he is right and everything I say is wrong. 8. And much...much more rude, ignorant, non-proffesional, anti-social, and generally idiot rantings, phrases, and behavior.
