This looks like just another Linux distribution here... I would like to know what language it's in, though.

On their website they say:

Does Pardus support only Turkish Language? Can i use in English?
Pardus's language is Turkish by default. But if you want to use in English, you can use it by changing the setting in "Country/Region and Language" setting under "Regional and Accessibility" menu which is in Pardus Configuration Center.

been looking for another os may give this a try. I have redhat 9 but had nothing but problems with it. Yet the more I try these free os out here I'm beging to think I will need to go back to the windows server. I hate windows with a passion. But have to admit can go to wronge with it so easy to use compared to most others. But I'm open to hear about others. Prefer those that you can use self extracting programs. hate to do the programing part.

umm.. this OS is based on Linux:

Both Linux kernel and the applications we use like Firefox Web Browser, OpenOffice.org, KDE, etc ... are free software and they have been developed after a long time by lots of people. Doing this work doesn't provide us more than spending money and time.

Because of said software being free, when we need to develop something about Turkish support or do cleaning for last-users, we can do it easily by editing the software. Submitting these software again to free software world makes us having a voice in free software eco-system and directing this eco-system to takes advantages.

Linux has been springboard for us to catch and to pass IT World's current level by putting original contributions on it.

You could probably find a much better Linux system out there. Ugh, I get sick of all these Linux distros. The only ones we really need are Debian, Slackware, and Gentoo...of course, LFS as well, but that is not a distro, it is a book on how to create your own Linux.

If I were you, I'd go with OpenBSD or Debian Linux. But don't ever forget that compiling a program is usually just as easy as ./configure, make, make install, in most cases.

But what are you trying to run a server for?

All linux distros are not free. Red Hat is not free. SuSE is not free. Yellow Dog is not free.

And to tell you the truth, UNIX I prefer over linux generally. Like Mac OS X.
