What do you think is the best FTP client?

I use SmartFTP and CuteFTP. Out of the two, CuteFTP is good. SmartFTP does not allow you to upload a whole folder.

SmartFTP does allow you to upload a whole folder. What you do is drag the folder onto the FTP window.

My favorite is SmartFTP, but that's only because it's the only one I've ever used.

Well, right now I'm using firezilla which is an opensource ftp program, I believe. It's fit for my needs with many features but still light.

whenever you want the best, and you want it free, turn to open source.

i mostly use command-line FTP through a bash script, or when im feeling lazy, i find konqueror is an excelent ftp client.

The free version of WS_FTP, which is WS_FTP was already phased out a couple of months ago..What was known as WS_FTP LE is now WS_FTP Home 9.0 which costs $34.95 to buy.

For a free FTP client..I would recommend FILEZILLA too as mentioned on previous posts.

Well, since you are asking only for an opinion, I think Ipswitch's WS_FTP Professional(their latest release: currently 9.0) is the best for me. You have to pay for it though but it's well worth it.

You can find all of its features here:
http://ipswitch.com/...P/features.html

Works great for me. The customer support is great too! :)

I've tried WS_FTP before I switched to LeapFTP. Franky, I don't like WS_FTP because it is so big in size (take time to download) and often disconnects from the server (I dunno why).

i love filezilla, it's just so wasy to use, and 'smart'. When i have to upload lots of files i just put them into the queue and leave it to upload. I used to use SmartFTP but it started crashing a lot, so i got rid of it. When i first learnt about FTP i used WS_FTP LE but now it seems too 'simple'

My preference is WS_FTP. It works well & is a great tool to have on hand. It's real simple to use & comes complete with a guided tour.

Also a Free Trial can be downloaded from Ipswitch.com
