I've just upgraded my PC...

Previously:
ASUS P5L-VM1394 [http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5LVM_1394/]
Intel Core 2 Duo 6400
4GB DDR800 RAM

Now:
ASUS P5KC [http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5KC/#specifications]
Intel Core 2 Duo 8400
4GB DDRII 1066

Now when i boot up Windows XP Professional it loads up ok but requires re-activation and just installed chipset driver for the new board

My question is, since this seems to run fine... would it be better if i do a fresh installation of XP Pro or is it just as good as is it now?

Currently it doesn't seem to have any issue, i'm just curious if there would be a better performance if i reinstall?

cheers

No reason to have a better performance after reinstallation.
If you have already all your staff installed and it workd fine, just keep it like that.
Usually, after a fresh install a PC works very fine. And each time you add a new softare it sztarts being slower and slower (adding more things in the registry and starting more services and firing new TSR programs which use all your available memory. So, I guess that if you re-install, it will work faster, and then slow agani as soon as you will have finished installing all your staff.
Or simply wait for your next virus-related crash and then having a good reason for performing a format and a fresh install ^_^
