What is happening on the Google main page?
Sometimes The google logo has a different look, and you can put the mouse over it and you see why - which celebration day is represented by this changed logo.
Today the logo is a lot of balloons which rush far away from your mouse, then pack again forming the word "google", and rush far away as soon as you move your mouse.
Did you notice this strange behavior? Do you know what these balloons are supposed to mean?

Google india looks normal and there is no change for that. The i changed it to google us and seen the effect. Hmm,yes looks like google is working with the javascript graphics.
I think there was flag for labor day as well which was animated. So yes, google does experiment sometimes. Have you checked up google gravity ?

It seems google started using some more serious and light Javascript, quite nice

I like the fade effect, it makes it look a little better and it seems to load as fast as it used to

Of course, this feature concerned only the Sept 7 day. Now it disappeared. It seems to be a kind of celebration, but I couldn't get what they were celebrating. Maybe they were birthday balloons? Google birthday?

It was a nice effect but I had my slow as Christmas laptop at the time and the moving balloons became a nuance very quickly. It is sad when the laptop comes to a crawl due to the Google search page

I know I'm a bit late but I'm pretty sure that effect was made using HTML 5.
