Here are some Active Desktop tips
Just as you know, you can add Web content to your desktop (Active Desktop)
Note that is post is useful for advanced users, if you don’t have enough information about windows registry; it is recommended use common utilities
By default, each user can create different documents in Active Desktop; you can restrict or disable use of documents
1- Click Start menu > select Run > and type “regedit” (without quotes), to run Windows Registry Editor
2- Go to following address: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
3- Create a new DWORD and name ForceActiveDesktopOn
4- to disable this ability, give it value of 1 , and to enable it, give value of 0
5- Close registry editor and restart your computer
To disable Active Desktop
1- Click Start menu > select Run > and type “regedit” (without quotes), to run Windows Registry Editor
2- Go to following address:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
3- Create a new DWORD and name NoActiveDesktop
4- to disable Active Desktop, give it value of 0 , and to enable it, give value of 1
5- Close registry editor and restart your computer
How to control Active Desktop
1- Click Start menu > select Run > and type “regedit” (without quotes), to run Windows Registry Editor
2- Go to following address:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop
3- Create a new DWORD and give it value of 1, and name base on each ability
A- To limit toolbars : NoMovingBands
B- To disable Wallpaper: NoChangingWallpaper
C- To disable BMP wallpaper: NoHTMLWallPaper
D- To disable Components: NoComponents
E- To disable adding new component: NoAddingComponents
F- To disable removing components: NoDeletingComponents
G- To disable editing components: NoEditingComponents
H- To disable managing mouse: NoCloseDragDropBands
4- Close registry editor and restart your computer
How to disable changing Active Desktop
1- Click Start menu > select Run > and type “regedit” (without quotes), to run Windows Registry Editor
2- Go to following address:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
3- Create a new DWORD and name NoActiveDesktopChanges
4- To enable this DWORD, give it value of 1, and to disable give value of 0
5- Close registry editor and restart your computer
How to disable changing Active Desktop settings
1- Click Start menu > select Run > and type “regedit” (without quotes), to run Windows Registry Editor
2- Go to following address :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
3- Create a new DWORD and name NoSetActiveDesktop
4- Give it value of 1
5- Close registry editor and restart your computer
Note: Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Before making changes to the registry, you should back up any valued data on your computer.

This is quite a mistake, you see the dword is NoActiveDesktop, to DISABLE active desktop, the dword value should 1, not 0 as above, and to ENABLE active desktop, you should have 0.
