Lots of rumour is going round the blogosphere at the moment that Technorati, the tagging search engine for blogs, could be for sale.
B.L. Ochman reported this here. I wrote an article too at my blog, but who do you think will buy it, if anyone? Top contenders are Microsoft, Yahoo, and Google; though some hope AltaVista buy it  .

It is my belief that Google will buy up Technorati. They're moving aggressively into blogs and blogging, and Technorati will complement their Blogger service perfectly. Yahoo! has bought blo.gs recently and Flickr, and I think they will be lacking of the cash right now.

Whoever may buy this "technorati" i think the main purpose of this is to have an authentic information to people. Also good for expressing ones ideas.
