Everybody may feel free towrite down a book and distribute it free instad of trying to make money with it. Not needing money is quite legal.
what is not legal, is giving for free something without the author's permission. But if you are the author, you may give for free yourown production.

Yeah, true, but is this book distributed with the author's permission? I mean, it doesn't look to be the author's site..so, I dunno. But perhaps the author did give the person permission to distribute the book. Hum. And for eBooks, I thought you had to pay to get to read them? So it's technically the same thing as buying a book at the bookstore. (Though it'd be easier just to borrow it from the library. tongue.gif)

Did you actually check the entire site before posting here. It is a site where the authors publish their books. So it is completely legal because the author himself has published "HIS BOOK" on this site. How can the author publish without "the author's permission"??

hmmm, those images look familiar, we have a "teach linux in 24 hours" book in our library, and it uses the same kind of images and layout.

To me it looks like this is an open dir to me.
