How great is taking photography of the sunset and everything out in the open with no one? The ocean, the sun, skyscrapers, buildings, bridges, scenic mountains JUST NATURE is so great and interesting. Players on the move while running how much more can it get? My suggestion : get a Powershot

Sunsets can be cool, but eventually you have to add something to make it stand out... I always wanted to get photos of new looking cars in the setting sun, like they use in car promos they have for their new models. It's on my "to-photo" list

I think that powershots are great, but the lighting has to be just right for the pictures to look fine. I prefer Nikon coolpix cameras... but I guess that people go on and on about which camera they prefer.
I would say that an SLR camera would be the best bet for motion shots. |

Why getting a Canon ? Most camera's can take descent sunset shots, especialy if a scene preset is available (and a lot of cameras have such preset).
Using a dSLR is indeed the best solution because of the big dynamic range of the big sensors, this allows you to still have details in the bright and dark area. |
