I found out that you can override any homepage setting in Internet Options. If you have spyware, or come accross it frequently, then this is a very good tweak for you.
1. Right-click on the IE icon on your desktop. 2. Select Properties 3. Now in the "Target" box you will see "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" Now by adding the url of the site to the end of this it overrides any Homepage setting in internet options. ex: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" www.sdgamerz.tk Note: This works only with a custom shortcut to Internet Explorer not the default one that opens Internet Options when you choose "properties". |

Better still, dowload and use spyware/adware killer to prevent your browser and computer from being hijeacked or bombarded with ads. The leading application is Adaware which is free for personal use.

If you do not want AdWare, and you would like an alternative you could always use
Bazooka Spyware Scanner, this is a great little program it lists all spyware on your system, it is very upto date you can update it everyday, also you can click on the spyware name and it will bring up a webpage with detailed information on how to get rid of the spyware on your system, it is very detailed. I recommend you get it Bazooka |

Thanx Thnder that was very helpful. As far as spyware is concerned I prefer to use Spybot which is a free program which my uncle (who is a computer engineer) put me onto.

A friend of mine has something stuck on his computer that's changing his homepage. I ran Spybot and Norton Antivirus, and the only thing that came up was an unrelated exploit (that I patched up right away). I found a porn dialer installed (that wasn't detected by the above mentioned programs
)I had it fixed and had the homepage coming up normally, but he said after I left it changed it back again. I'll try this little trick you've posted above and see if that works... Whatever he's got on his computer is baffling me |

There are a lot of alternatives, but I personally use 4 at once
1.) Ad-Aware SE Professional 1.04 2.) Spy Sweeper 3.0 Professional 3.) Pest Patrol Corporate Edition V.??? 4.) Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3 |
