I want to know how, please show us.
Also, present us with some different choices in Operating systems. e.g. Linux/Windows 2K,2K3, etc Show us how to set up the DNS server so that we could host web pages. |

Okay, I will show you for Windows, (I've never gotten Linux to host for me, so I won't give you bad directions) using a server called OmniSecure. Step by Step Directions will follow...

I just replied to a smiliar problem inside another topic. But instead of showing how to do it I more concentrated on the software needed

Sweet jesus....This thing with ominsecure is really ez to use opposed to apache....It is basicly the same thing as apache though...only much simpler put...and a lot less manual text editing...that can cause serious headaches to beginners...I'm not sure how secure it is exactly, but so far I am loving this new program

i use a program called XAMPP is has everything that a websever should have. i am using it at the moment but just for making websites offliine. and experimenting with php which iam learning at the moment.
the program is available for free to download from their website. its easy to install cos it does everything for you. just double click install and it does everything for you. then all ou need to do is put your files in httpdoc. worth a try!!! |

To further the above, I tottaly agree, Ive been using XAMPP for about three months now and love the program, perefct web server and FTP if needed, 1 click setup, just grab the instllaer from http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
