Author: velma Total-Replies: 0 I watched V for Vendetta recently and V's monologue got me all roar/grrr/ho yeah! and so on QUOTEVoilą! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V.

Author: Jeigh Total-Replies: 4 I do indeed remember Alice. Man that game was awesome! I can't remember everything about it but I loved it immensely. The sheer concept and darkness of it was awesome especially for the time it came out. It just took such an innocent concept and completely raped it making it into this dark, creepy, intensely gothic realm. Not only that but the game itself actually played really well. The graphics were decent and the mechanics were tight. I like the puzzle solving and combat elements and the storyline tied in nicely. I wish they made more games like this that took a very unique look at something fairly familiar. Sure other art forms can do this too (when they remake a movie in a new light for example) but games have such an immersion factor it bumps it up a notch. Hopefully they release something along this vein again soon.

Author: NgoThanhNgoc Total-Replies: 0 Sorry that the topic name is not correct (mIRC not Mric). I can not edit its name Many people chat on mIRC and share their files (AstaHost also has mIRC channel). you can download files (movie, video, music, book, etc). I often use it to download manga (Japanese picturebooks). So the instruction and example below is to download manga from some manga channel, but it can be applied for other file types. First, you have to download mIRC from http://www.mirc.com/, click Download mIRC After that, you click its icon , a new window appears: http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d.../mirc/mirc1.jpg Click Continue This window displays: http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d.../mirc/mirc2.jpg Type your information Note: Your nickname may be not available, so choose a different nick name Then, click DCC/Ignore: http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc5.JPG Method: Choose Accept Only FIle Type: type file type you will download, for ex, *.zip, *.rar and click Add. So, these types of file are in your accepted list. Connect > Option: Click Advance, and tick on some square as below: http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc3.JPG ==> http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc4.JPG Connect > Server, In mIRC Server, you see some servers like this: http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d.../mirc/mirc3.jpg Choose server you like to visit. For example, I need to download manga from Mangaproject (its mIRC channel is #mangaproject.irc.too.com) I choose IRCtoo: Random server Then, click Connect to Server. mIRC will connect you to chat room of IRCtoo. It takes a few minutes. A dialogue box show, ask which channel (for ex, #mangaproject, #shoujomagic , etc.) you like to join: http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d.../mirc/mirc4.jpg You may add #mangaproject to your favorite list by Click Add and see this: http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d.../mirc/mirc5.jpg In Channel section, type #mangaproject and click Add. So, #mangaproject is in your list now, and the next time, you only have to select it from your list instead of typing. After you choose #mangaproject and click Join, #mangaproject window will appear http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d.../mirc/mirc6.jpg If this is the first time you join this channel, please spend a little time to read its rule by typing: “!rule”. If you are familiar, no need to do that. But note not to break the rules or you will be kicked out of the channel, maybe some hour or worse, forever. Now, you type “list”to see download address, and see a mass of data. It seems confused, but don’t worry, you’l get use to it soon. Take a look and you will see some lines like this: http://img143.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mirc7zx6.jpg - Nick Name of person who offers you file: no need to remember but if they have lots of file and offer high download speed, it’s better to remember their name. - Trigger: it is important. It’s the download source. - Sends (sometimes S): maximum number of people who download at the same time. The more the better. - Queues (sometimes Q): Number of people who are waiting to download their files. If it is lont, “Queues: 7/15” means you have to wait 7 people downloading their files before you start. If it is big, 10 or more queues, you should ignore it. - Message: what fserve like to say. Sometimes, they says that they use firewall, sometimes it is an offer or advertising. Now, let’s try with Yuna-chan. Type her name (right after “Trigger”), note that you have to type accurately. Or you may select the whole name (move the pointer from the first letter to the end), hold Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste. Then, Enter, a new window shows up http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d.../mirc/mirc9.jpg Type: “dir” to see all folders http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d...mirc/mirc10.jpg Next, type “cd __” (__ is folder name). Here, I(nickname linh)like to see folder ##[COMPLETE]##, so I type: “cd ##[COMPLETE]##” http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d...mirc/mirc11.jpg After you come into ##[COMPLETE]##, you type “dir” to see a list of files http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d...mirc/mirc12.jpg Again, you see it has subfolders, type “cd __” (__ is the name of file you like to see). i.e., type “cd ANATOLIA STORY” to see what inside the file ANATOLIA STORY. Next, type dir to see its subfolders: http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d...mirc/mirc13.jpg Now, I choose CHINESE, so I type “cd CHINESE (3-30) [C]” and type “dir” http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d...mirc/mirc14.jpg Note: You have to type exactly its name. Now, a list of files appears, and you can download the wanted file by command “get” i.e, type “get anatolia25.zip”. Here I download file sora_ha_akai_kawa_no_hotori_14.zip, so I type “sora_ha_akai_kawa_no_hotori_14.zip” http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d...mirc/mirc15.jpg Note: following each file is it size, i.e., 12.3Mb, don’t type this number! And a new line appears in the dialogue box: http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v280/d...mirc/mirc16.jpg It means that you are the tenth in the queue, and you need to wait for 9 download competed before your download begin After a few minutes, a red line : “DCC session closed” appear. Don’t worry, your file will be downloaded as normal unless you log out mIRC. Now, your download ready, a dialogue box appear to ask your confirmation. Click OK. mIRC will send that file to your computer. Additional information: 1. Only use command “get” for file, not folder. File is the one with its size (…MB, KB)followed. 2. You can join many channel at once by click Tools > Favourite. 3. After you complete command “get” to download, you can type “Sends” to check ones who are downloading and “Queues” to see lists of queues. 4. File downloaded will be saved at C://Program Files/MIRC/download. to change it, go to Options > DCC > Folder, click edit: http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc1.JPG --> http://home2.accvn.net/dieulinh/mirc2.JPG Browse the destination you save your files 5. Some channel requires you to register your nick. It is simple like a piece of cake. In dialogue Status, type “/ns register [password] [your email] For ex,: /ns register 123456 linh@yahoo.com And follow their instructions.

Author: nakulgupta Total-Replies: 8 QUOTEWhat do you seek in a game? Graphics? Good storyline? And when is too much, too much?I personally think there is too much graphics in today's games, and it seems to be a epidemic within the devloping community that more graphics means better games, which is defiantly not true. You just need to looks at DOOM 3 and see how much of a dud it was. Nice graphics, but poor AI, gameplay etc. sent DOOM 3 crashing into obvilion. You look at games like Natural-Selection, which uses the HL engine (which is 6 or so years old) and how it has become more popular independent Half-life mod (i.e. Not brought by Valve) So my opinion is there need to be more emphisis to storyline and less on graphics. What i feel is a game should closely resemble well.... movies. Today some of he best games are based on movies. Because movies already have a well defined storyline it gives more time for the developer to give time to the graphics department. I feel graphics need to be nice without being too demanding....Like Half Life..the graphics are very nice and the game can be run on old computers too. Doom 3 was a monster in terms of graphics requirement. The game looked good no doubt but it needed too much resources. On the other hand games like Hitman with a solid storyline and good looking graphics are a pleasure to play...One of my all time favourites that one

Author: dhanesh Total-Replies: 6 My second tutorial after the S60 Font Change. A 4.7GB DVD is capable of holding upto 6 movie files (700MB DVDRips), people with DIVX players dont have any problems playing such content but for some who have only DVD/VCD/MP3 etc players with no chance of playing DIVX content would find this tutorial helpful. Well, hopefully this should work for all. Scene : You have 700MB DVDRips (.avi) of your favourite movies (Backed up from a DVD ofcourse lol) and you want to put them on a DVD making them a 3 in 1 DVD. Thats 700MB x 3 in ONE DVD. Tools Required :
Procedure : Aight so lets get started ... STEP 1 :
You will have to wait for like 7 - 8 Hrs depending on your PC Speed. But its worth. Please do take notice that during this time you PC will run slow ... HELL slow lol ... So its time for a nice nap ! STEP 2 :
Your backup will now start and this time you can use your PC a little. DVD Shrink does not hang up ur system so much. This process takes say an Hr and a half to the MAX. STEP 3 :
Hope this helps some of you, If you have any questions or suggestions, i'd be glad to hear them Regards Dhanesh.

I read on a Game Pro magazine that there's about more than 40 games that have been licensed to go on the big screen. As I posted on a Halo Movie thread, here's some of the movies they're making out of video games. BloodRayne Doom(script completed. Starting The Rock O.o) The Getaway Hitman Max Payne Metriod Resident Evil: Afterlife House of the Dead: Dead Aim(first one sucked) and lots more...We'll just have to see if it's really a good idea what they're doin For more info go to gamepro.com

Author: Herbert Total-Replies: 21 Just picked this game up last week in a bargain bin, but it's a very good game. I found it for Gamecube thinking it was another game a friend of mine was talking about, but I was plesantly surprised. I hooked the 'Cube up to my computer's TV Input so I could play it in peace, but the picture was blurry, so I bought a PC version off ebay that should be here any day now. It starts off with the main character, John Vattic, waking up with all sorts of stitches and bandages, and generally looking like he just recovered from a train wreck. He wakes up in an isolation ward strapped to a bed, but quickly discovers that he seems to have some telepathic powers... and he's forgotten almost everything that has happened up to that point. The game is a third person shooter/sneaker that reminds me a bit like Splinter Cell in some of the moves, such as hanging from beams and whatnot, but the extra element of psychic powers puts an interesting spin on the game. The plot is actually really well thought out, and it has an interesting twist. The voice acting is pretty good. The characters are generally memorable. It only took me about 9 hours to beat, but overall I recommend this game for the price. You can download the full version for a 15 minute trial, and if you like it, you can buy the key from Codemasters' site to unlock it ($14.99 I believe... Well worth it.) Ooh, another thing, if you've ever played Silent Scope in an arcade, this has a sniper rifle that reminds me of that, where you stay in Third Person, but the scope will look where you look with it... really well done: ![]() http://www.gamershell.com/pc/second_sight/screenshots.html

Author: ultimategamers Total-Replies: 6 I thought this game was alright. But, after you beat it once with every character, (which only took me about a day) I kind of got bored of the game. I maxed out all of the character in another day because all you have to do is skip the cut scenes and do the same cheap move over and over again. Lol I loved the quote on the back of the box "Play the Action Movie" thats what I sort of fealt like it was. Playing a movie. I sort of also fealt that this game was more or less of a graphics test for the FFX engine. Anyways, I didn't completely hate it but its not worth owning because you can beat it in the few days of renting

Author: kgd2006 Total-Replies: 9 Visiting old games is definitely fun. There are many games that I enjoy playing that are more fun to play than some of the graphically intense games that are made for the next gen system right now. Games like tetris, legend of zelda, old school mario and various legendary games that durastically changed of their gameplay due to the evolution of games that our currently out right now. I liked the simple games because its less movie like, dont get me wrong watching cinematic of games are gorgeous like that one game Metal Gear Solid, but it stutters my rythm of gameplay experience. Games now a days are going for the play a little watch a long movie play a little watch another long movie. I rather play the game, and watch the GIANT MOVIE in the end. Its like yea I did all that work now reward me feeling, I kinda have a bitter taste for games that just interrupts my rythm of game play when I was getting in the mood and another movie pops up. But then again, some of the movies that pops up gives the player a short break to rest his eyes and focus on things. So I guess the strategy if there is one, to make it healthier for a player that plays long games, is the correct strategy to take. But I prefer the short but sweet action games and puzzle games that you can casually play and have fun with friends with. THose are the games that lasts for awhile.

Author: harriko Total-Replies: 16 i completed this game i thought this was the easiest game out of the final fantasy series. i beat everything striaght through the game, i didnt even see the game over screening in the game much. i had no training throughout the game just beat the monsters or "fiends" that came accross in my journey. i found that my friends kinda struggled on the game trying to defeat the boss in the end. they even got the stratagy guide to help them through! and i didnt have anything to help myself. i didnt know there was any secret aeons or gaurdian forces (GF). yes i agree that final fantasy ten was the most beautiful looking. all the video clips were a work of art. it was soo clear and defined, this what makes me want to be a graphics designer. creating 3d works like that. the best final fantasy game was final fantasy 7 that had the best story line. even theyre making the movie sequel to the game. and making side stories of the game. i didnt complete that, thought it was hard. and the bad thing was my memory had been erased! so all that work to do it again! i wasnt bothered at all.!

The future is now. ... Our only habitat is much different from the almost heavenly planet described by historical archives. That blue heaven was once a place full of life - a home also to humanity, it's evolution through science and time - it's technological miracles: exploration of space, exploration of the deepest seas... People were setting their foot where no man had lived before - first brave men and women created underwater settlements in the deepest regions of seas. In the name of science. In the name of military security... While nations were making great leaps in the fields of culture - they were just that... nations. The planet was still covered with thick political boundaries. Not all men wanted those to disappear. And where a great political tension is created - a catharsis of even bigger volume will follow. Now, we look with terror how easy it was for human to cover it's only home with nuclear fire. But even the hell stepping down to Earth was not the worst to come ... And so begins the new masterpiece from the well known Origin. Famed for their original, creative and very entertaining productions like the Privateer or the Settlers series, now they strike again with perfectly crafted game, but with an unexpected theme as well. The action starts several hundred years after the great nuclear holocaust. A tragedy that resulted in melting of Earth's polar caps which flooded the planet with one, endless ocean. The last remnants of humanity have learned to exist deep under the surface, safe from the deadly radiation above. They have now created large communities, if not to say nations - each with it's own number of cities, settlements, it's own corporations and military power... Some rule with democratic protocol, others with a dictator's mighty hand. Science was not buried either - methods of relatively fast, large scale transport were developed initiating the evolution of trade. All in all - people have learned that the most precious key to survival is balance. A balance that soon might be disturbed... What we have here is of course an underwater sub-of-the-future simulator but there is much more to expect from the gameplay than a copy of SilentHunter routine. As you can see from the plot outlined above - the game takes us about 600 years into the future where we animate an experienced mercenary called Emerald "DeadEye" Flint. He is about to enter one of the greatest and most entertaining S-F stories ever encountered in a game. I won't say more, but rest assured that the plot-outline above is only the tip of the iceberg. An iceberg you are likely to fall off if you won't get your hands on the original book-size game-manual, where the whole history and geography of the future's world is laid out, without which you won't be able to fully appreciate the game. And there is plenty to appreciate - one of the most beautiful "underwater" 3D engines where big things a-r-e big; with hi-res textures and state of the art dynamic lighting, shading and perspective correction technologies; precisely recreated real-world physics like gravity, tides system and detailed hydro-dynamics; some of the greatest computer-animation sequences, easily blowing any Abyss movie stuff away; brilliant voice-casting; some of the most moody techno music you will ever hear; stunning armament of guns, torpedoes, turrets, software and other equipment for your boats; and above all - an unusually detailed and realistic world, where you can talk to people, choose your own dialogues and earn bonus missions in a non-linear fashion. Definitely worth a shot! Special notes:
