Author: grim reaper1666 Total-Replies: 37 QUOTE (some christian drone)But the Bible is, among other things, a book of real history. God has revealed to us the major events of history from the beginning of time to enable us to build a way of thinking to understand the universe. When one accepts the history time-line as outlined in Scripture, it is easy to explain dinosaurs. When one understands that land animals (including dinosaurs) were made on the sixth day of Creation—that there was no death (of animals or man) or disease (there are dinosaur bones that show evidence of diseases like cancer) before sin—that all the land animal kinds (including dinosaurs) were on the Ark—and that many animal groups (including dinosaurs) have died out since the Flood (because sin, the curse, and the Flood affected the world)—then it's easy to explain the history of dinosaurs. i have a problem with this for starters the bible is not writen or revealed by god it is simply written by normal people, they talk about the 7 days of creation but did you know that at the time when this fancy toliet paper was written the word day had a meaning similar to age. and as we know an age is an incredibly long amount of time its billions of years sometimes so most of the book of genesis is not to be taken literally you know. has any religious person stopped to think that the book of fakesis was just created to give people someones theory on what happened. you can't say that because its in the bible its true. thats like saying a dog is a cat. you've got to stop being biased heck i m not i see somethings in the bible are similar to the events of the big bang. it is just basically in places a opinion on what might of happened. i do history at college and that has taught me to never rely on one source. never put your money inone bank sort of case , you don't want them going bankrupt.

Author: teraslasch Total-Replies: 36 Do enjoy this list www.runescape.com This game is so called "3D" .. although i looks like it, i don't feel it is 3D www.maplestory.com This game is a side scroller MMORPG and the gfx are very cute and lovely ^^..You can choose 4 different type of classes: Warrior, archer, thief and mage. This game is 2D and it is kinda fun, but all you can is kill monsters, there are group quests and there is no PVP in this game. www.gunbound.com This is also another side scroller 2D game, but it is different from your typical MMORPG. This game is something like the game "Worms" , if anyone knows what it is www.roseon.com This is currently a new 3D MMORPG in beta. Translated from korean.. it is made by the company gravity which also made Ragnarok Online. It is very similar to ragnarok just that it is totally 3D , i have not played much but i know alot of people who enjoy this game. Another typical 3D MMORPG translated from korean to english http://www.darkeden.com/en/ This game is 2D and it is about vampires VS slayers. lots of PVP content in it.. it's all about vampires fighting slayers and there are often raids etc. I would suggest this game for gamers who likes to PvP http://www.eternal-lands.com/ The game is now in Beta stage, but that doesn't mean it is incomplete and it plans on being free. There are 9 skills, total character development freedom, many quests, religion, a lot of NPCs, animals and monsters. If you are a PKer, you can fight other PKers in special maps. If you are not a PKer, then you can stay on the non PK maps, where you don't have to worry about being attacked by other players. You can fight monsters and other players, hunt animals.. Please continue adding to this list if possible

Author: Rhy Total-Replies: 17 My favorite and only text based game is DartMud. I wrote a bit about it which I posted in another thread but I guess I'll repost it here! Happy mudding! I was first introduced to muds in general in 2000, the first and only mud I've played since then is DartMud. Oh sure I've tried plenty of other muds but none are as realistic, complex and detail-oriented as DartMud! The world is constantly changing and almost completely player-run (as far as what goes on in social/political aspects). It does take a little while to get used to the daily life and the way things work but once you get the hang of it you will find yourself hopelessly addicted. It's great that I've been playing for 6 years and still learn new things and go new places all the time! Soon there will even be a whole new continent complete with it's own culture, languages, native foods and crops, races, etc. I feel as if I must mention the crafting system as it is incredibly complex but not aggravating (unlike muds where you sit in one spot and work on carving one piece of wood for 10 minutes just to mess it up). No, instead if you wanted to carve a piece of wood you would first need to find a woodaxe and a hand saw, then go out in the woods (minding the wild animals), find a tree and chop it down (and hope it doesn't fall on you), chop it into board, take the board to a smithy that has appropriate tools and THEN you are ready to carve the wood into whatever you want...if you have the skill. Once you get to that point that you're ready to make the wood into what you want it's instant. No sitting around waiting to see if 10 lines of "You continue carving the wood" succeeds or not. That's just one example. There are tons of crafts. My favorites are sewing and leather working. Finally, WAR. Just like in the real world people don't always get along in DartMud. We do have a number of castles and guilds that don't always agree. We also have quite a few independant people that don't always agree with the castles/guilds. It is not a constant occurrence but every now and again someone will go too far and the world will be torn apart by war. Once my character's husband, a noble of a castle as well, was murdered by another group. My character had revenge on her mind and took out some members from the rival group, and in turn some of the people she lived with lost their lives. After many peace talks and bargaining for each others members held for ransom things eventually went back to normal. To me these are the times in DartMud that are key to building friendships and history for your character. Great fun too! When you log on and your hands are shaking because you don't know if someone is hiding next to your character's bed ready to kill them...you know it's an awesome game. Over the years DartMud has made me laugh, cry and sometimes even punch things! There is no experience quite like it and I won't be happy until I've tried to convince everyone in the world to play!!

Considering HDTV and easier film editing this will be a big leap in average file space. The animation that roggle posted about (http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/research/rec...rAnimation.html) is very wierd and addictive, but it explains what perpendicular hard drives are! Compuccino

Author: kaputnik Total-Replies: 24 Wicca as far as I am aware is 'A way of life'... historically, nature worship was the original of all worship, since the first people that started of praying, did so to nature since nature inspired awe and terrified early man who did not understand much of nature. Wicca, is basicaly the worship of the basics of life. It's defined by the parameters of nature worship and even human worship (in some forms). Essentially it revolves around understanding, bonding and being a part of the universal energy fields that surround us through all animate and in-animate things. Take for example, Hinduism. It has its roots in the very ancient (circa 1500-2000 bc) of times when the understanding of nature was entirely the vogue. When we look at the non-commercialized form of Hindu worship today, it maintains the essence of reaching out to the universal all encompassing energy (Bhrama). A lot of religions around the world have their basis defined by the search for and attaining a bonding with the universal energy. That's Wicca... (my understanding of it).

Author: RGF Total-Replies: 17 First of all I don't believe in the bigbang theory nor do I believe that the earth was created 4004 or so years ago because (but first I may say something that may be off or not right but they are my idea's and opinions) the theory of the bigbang is just that a theory nothing more no one knows 100% what happened when life started nor can anyone say they do or what they say is 100% fact I could say that I am the King of the free world and have a golden toilette doesn't make it so. I'm not saying its not possible... just improbable. As for evolution it is possible and does happen in many things "animals, plants, bugs etc" but its really just adapting to ones new or current environment. As for the idea that I came from an ape just because humans and chimpanzee share some of the same characteristics doesn't make it so. what I'm trying to say is that we needed something to believe in and some people answered the call in matter of speaking... without anything to believe in... we have nothing, we do not know where we came from, we are not sure why we are here or what we are meant to do

Author: toby Total-Replies: 67 QUOTE (MediYama)Yes, the graphics do suck. There's just one thing I don't understand.. I'm sure that the Java programming language is capable of MUCH more high-poly 3D graphics. It's not that hard to make a head mis-shaped like they have it. They could at least renew the player graphics. Then they could also make sure that the "sky" isn't black. Also about the bad moderation, I was speaking Dutch to a friend of mine once. I said "kom" (means "come") and it was censored.. And still it's so popular. It's sickening. Link: view Post: 106040 QUOTEPreviously, we set a cap of five hundred polygons per model. Now, your basic human NPC still has that many, but we can use up to around 2,000-2,500 for the larger models... Some special animations are allocated more frames - for instance, the kalphite queen's stage one death animation contains 300 frames

Author: chickenside Total-Replies: 78 I disagree with this, we haven't got the technology to do so. Assuming we could travel the speed of light, it would take over 10, 000 years to reach the next galaxy, let alone planet with life. Theoretically, suspended animation would be sufficient enough to keep someone alive that distance, however, there isn't enough fuel to travel that distance. Even if we could, there's no guarantee we'll find life in our neighbourhood galaxy, Andromeda (I think), so this means we must travel farther. Assuming we had the technology to do this practically, we must race the universe, which is expanding everyday, here's some numbers: the Earth's revolving at nine hundred miles an hour, orbiting at nineteen miles a second, the everything we can see is moving at a million miles a day. Our galaxy, the "Milky Way", is a spiral shaped galaxy, our solar system is located on an outer spiral arm. It's a hundred thousand light years side to side, in the middle it's sixteen thousand light years thick, where we are it's just three thousand light years thick. We're thirty thousand light years from the center of our galaxy, and go around every two hundred million years, at a speed of forty thousand miles an hour. A race we are definitely not going to win...

Author: OpaQue Total-Replies: 9 I am replying to share my opinions here because for a simple fact, Your TOPIC scratched my mind. I do not know if you are right or wrong, but the same jumpy voice in me who wants to be noticed .. needs a chance QUOTEBut take a close look at those people, especially the ones who promote a particular ideology or belief system. How many of them are practicing what they preach? And more importantly, how many are providing you with reasonable means to accomplish these lofty-sounding ambitions? And then, the most important question of all: How is all this affecting your life?QUOTEHere's how I see the current situation of the human organization. Culture is a virtual reality.Nicely put.. I feel, more like the rules defined by the Sims Game. QUOTEA culture is a localized spatio-temporal continuum, meaning that it exists only in a particular place and over a definite period of time. Otherwise, you'd have one culture that spans the entire planet throughout all of history. This is a preliminary resemblance between culture and VR. But this is trivial, really, so let's move on...QUOTEBut a computer language is usually very precise, its logic leaving no room for misinterpretation or confusion. Human languages, on the other hand, are inherently ambiguous. A word can have 2 or more meanings, depending on the context in which it occurs. And it's my contention that "Culture-Makers" manipulate us into carrying out their self-serving agendas through the skillful obfuscation of context, leaving us with a hazy, deceptive understanding of the underlying meaning.I hope, here Culture and Duty are not mis-understood. :-) QUOTETake democracy, for example. The spirit of democracy is rather intuitively-grasped by everyone, and it's a notion that I suppose most of us find decent and constructive. But how does it lend itself to actual application? It gives rise to what political philosophers call Tyranny of the Majority. If the majority chooses to persecute a particular minor ethnicity, for better or ill, that's how it shall be.QUOTEAnd the plot thickens even more when you think about how those 51% made their so-called "decision" in the first place. It's usually the propaganda and the hyperbole they were relentlessly exposed to during months of campaign advertising. How else would loving parents choose a president who would send their children to kill and die in another country? The toxic power of images, now perfected through the superb machinery of mass media, leaves no room for educated decision. The brainwashing is so complete and omnipresent that we can't distinguish between choice and psychological coercion. It's no coincidence that all major news broadcasting channels have professional psychologists on staff.Biting the Dust will apply to the people who were busy in politics.. but what about the men who are completely occupied by their self duty? And learning life by what it gives every second? QUOTEI was talking with a dear friend of mine recently, who is an intelligent, accomplished person with a professional CV so impressive that it still amazes me every time I read it. She was trying to convince me of the importance of acquiring a prestigious university degree, and that it didn't matter whether you enjoyed what you were studying or whether you didn't find yourself in it. She insisted that abandoning a highly-respected, well-paying profession for the sake of pursuing a self-fulfilling, self-realizing activity or discipline of study is a sign of irresponsibility and immaturity.QUOTEEven more paradoxical is that this person was arguing with me that enjoyment and fulfillment were not the most important things to pursue in a university program, at the same time she was searching for another job because she didn't feel appreciated or satisfied with the one she then had.I feel its wrong to judge anyone because I really haven't understood myself so confidently that every spoken word of my word reflects my true self. but I end up judging others.. I accept, I am a human and born ignorant. QUOTEPeople usually criticize me for doing things unorthodoxically and treading culturally frowned-upon paths. They think I do it to fit the image of the heretic or to enjoy a childish heroic thrill. The truth is, I merely follow my heart and do what "feels" right to me. I do believe that someone needs to set an example, with the obvious risk of going down as a martyr, but it's only by coincidence that not many others seem to be up to the task.QUOTEThink of how many times cultural boundaries ruthlessly crushed your personal aspirations, sexual preferences, artistic expressions, and aesthetic inclinations, then ask yourself whether "fitting in" was really worth it.My policy is .. either I do it myway or I won't do it to keep you happy. :-) QUOTEMy theory is that these people, forcibly awakened from the proverbial American Dream, suddenly found themselves vis-a-vis a waking reality that they had nothing but a very brief introduction to, and over which they had no control whatsoever. Escaping life altogether was the only solution their fragile, dependent psyches found for an otherwise seemingly insoluble dilemma. Its a pity, one chooses to end life before giving some time to life.. alone. But before ending my own story, I would first STEAL a lot of money and then run away to some place where I can be alone for atleast a month. With people and negativity apart.. here I will see what happens to me and then decide to kill myself. Or even put up an auction to allow someone to kill me for granting my last wish. Lots of ideas.. but yeah, if its killing myself what I m talking about, I can always USE this great move of mine for the good of me or someone else. Now the part where I talk about Culture I have lived in a society from birth and people always looked sane to me. None tried to beat me or abuse me First, I used to wonder, Why I am blindly following others? Why am I suddenly stopping at a GrEEN signal or What makes me stand up when I hear the National Anthem. I believe the Role of culture is to let people live in peace. And this is not possible without Discipline. So, What do we do? We set a list of rules like "Thou shall not harm anyone, not Steal etc. etc". All the CONDITIONS of culture which helped me and others to live in peace and gave me a sense of security for myself and my immediate family members was accepted. However, some rules were not applicable for me because I was a guy. So, I started abusing the loop holes I found in the system. Immediately I saw myself acting like a Dog. Because, everyone else was doing or intending to do just the same :-/ It was then I dis-connected my existence to all the stupid knowledge GAINED by PEOPLE/SURROUNDINGS and accepted a NEW personal Teacher. The Teacher of truth. Of all the things that changed, truth was something with my Deep understanding (of sitting idle at one place n just thinking) flashed me saying.. DUDE! I NEVER CHANGE! Truth said, "No matter what you say" or "What your friend's say" or "What the whole world CHANTS", A is to APPLE and B is to BALL. If all humanity wakes up one day chanting.. "A for Ball" and "B for Apple", All humans will be HONEST with their REASONS for what they said. I do not judge them, but the TRUTH can never budge. Its there and no nuclear or cosmic power can change it. My next Question was.. So, If Truth itself is not affected .. Why the heck am I bothering soo much in asking people to EXPLAIN it to me? If I m really bothered about a Certain fact, Can't I discover it myself? At the most, I might not approve hosting applications for one year but then so what.. I finally get to know what I want. LUCKILY, most of my QUESTIONS/ARGUMENTS/FRUSTRATIONS were related to only one specie called "Human". But Guess what? I m one MySELF The First thing I did was change the TAG LINE of XISTO to "Honestly Rocks!" meaning.. its GREAT to be HONEST! and its the best thing in the world you can do to live Happily between humans, BUT "truth rules" because its un-changeable When I started my journey to understand "truth" (still on it.. Haven't been bored of it yet..), I really cut myself out of people. Knowing myself was the main Goal and its lessons have taught me so much more about others. I now see myself as a simple Human
