I was thinking about throwing some php together and making a generator for people (like you) that don't really have the time to. I know how you feel. You don't want to learn all the graphics and stuff you just want a template type thing. Though I personally haven't made a generator for this type of thing yet, yahoo offers a fairly good way to make websites. Just go to Geo cities and click templates. Find one that fits you and fill in your website details. Now, go to your yahoo website and press ctrl + u (or apple + u if your on a mac). A new page "view source" page should open. Press Ctrl + A (everything should be highlighted) press Ctrl + C (this copys it). Open up a new document in Astahost and press Ctrl + V (everything should be pasted). That's it! You have your easly made website right at astahost (with no ads where as geocities has ads).

Note: You may have to edit a little of the code that has ads in it if you don't want them (all it is, is deleting code, not adding it).

Also: I'm not sure but you may have to leave a copyright because your using Yahoo's images.

Hope this helps,

~Sparkx~

An alternative would be to install one of the CMS packages that AstaHost provide you with inside control panel?
You can choose from 11 different CMS packages including Xoops, Nuke, Siteframe, Drupal and my fav Joomla.
Also you have 4 different Blog only CMS programs to choose from including my fav for this..Wordpress.

All of these systems have FREE templates to download..so many script options they will make your eyes bleed..soo much documentation on support forums to make your fingers bleed reading them all.

In my view if you know very little about making sites and what to get something started fast ...with endless possibilities of new templates...script options and the ability to learn soo much like making your own templates..doing this you will have to learn basic HTML PHP and CSS skills.
In a years time who knows you might have enough knowledge to make your own scripts to use in the CMS system.

But the great thing is..you can start with a very basic knowledge of site design to get started..for instance adding a new page in Joomal can be a simple as this^^^ Ie writing a forum post..the input box and everything are just the same in Joomla..
I say to people if you post on a forum and reply to emails..you can use a CMS system to host your own site!

All of these products can be found in your control panel inside your account then look for Preinstalled Scripts and then FANTASTICO from the menu..you just follow the instructions and it will install the CMS for you..

If it doesnt work out..you can just uninstall them in the same way..I played with a few different packages before I settled on Joomla as my weapon of choice for CMS wink.gif

Good Luck and happy hunting!!

Marky;)

Hi chinna!

I'm here like yourself after discovering this unbeatable hosting offer being presented by the folks here at Astahost. Free webhosting (potentially a $99 value) in return for contributing and learning from each other is an absolute AWESOME bargain no matter how you look at it! laugh.gif Since you're not so good at web design (like myself), I suggest you get some help. Ready made websites are the way to go if HTML, PHP, and all the other abbreviations simply baffle you. huh.gif Save the time designing your own website when someone out there may have already done it for you! Starting at around $60, templatemonster.com has 1000s of ready-made web sites available for every need imaginable. All of the websites are ready to use and only require minor adjustments to customize it to your liking. Check it out. You might just see something you like! ohmy.gif

Happy Huntin'!

thanks for the link. I loved the "simplyBusiness" template, rather simple but looks very professional.

lol, im not much of a webdesigner but if your interested in websites i can get some for you because i know places that give them out free which are really god. Also, i can get you some template monster templates for free if you want, just email me at lewisthemusician@hotmail.com or you can add me on msn if you have it and i can get you one.
What i might do eventually is, i will post a threat with loads of sites where you can get free templates or i can post loads of links to template monsters.
Tell me if you think it would be a good idea, also, i make flash intro's if you want one, but i charge biggrin.gif
If you can't afford a flash intro i can maybe get you one free from template monster aswell.
So remember to email me.

Thanks

-Lewis
