I have a problem when trying to burn audio cd's with Nero. When I reach the place where it asks me to "add" what I want to burn, it doubles the size of what I am burning. In other words if what I am burning is 55 minutes, when I add it to Nero it automatically becomes 110 If it was 45 minutes it automatically becomes 90 minutes. Of course then the file is too large to burn as it exceeds the capacity of the disk. Has anyone had this problem before???

er...
Seems that you are adding things twice. Maybe you should first tell us what you are doing exactly and how you are performing it. Are you doing an exact copy of an existing CD ? Or are you creating a compilation from several mp3 or other music files stored on your hard disk ? |

I open Nero and choose "make audio cd" and it then takes me to the place where it says "add". After I click on that it takes me to my HD and I click on the audio file that I want to copy. When it appears where it is ready to burn it shows double the amount like I said in my previous posts. I have since deleted Nero and downloaded the free trial version of Nero 7 and it works fine. After the trial period is over I will re-install my Nero Express 6 that came with the computer. It is obviously a problem with my Nero program. I knew it was all along but I just thought someone may have run into this before and knew how to fix it without having to delete the program. |

My best advice on this..Dump NERO !!
Never liked this program its SOO bloated!! Always my users are having problems with this crappy product ;( I use Roxio Winon CD - a copy I got bundled 7 years ago with a Cd burner..when I got a DVD burner 2 years ago all I had to do was download a 400k file to make it work on DVD too.. I make LOTS of audio CDs with it..Only burner on the market I have used that allows me edit a .wav or an mp3 inside the burner..I.E. if I got carried away and carried on mixing after 80 mins I can chop the end off..fade it out..put an effect on it..all within the burning window.. For "other" files such as ISO etc I use Alcohol 100% I have tried Nero myself but hey compared to Winoncd its too slow..too bloated..too many stupid disc errors for no reason...it used to be hard to burn right to the very end of a CD too..Winonccd allows you to do this. |

Roxio??? Now THAT is a bloated piece of software. So is Nero 7. But if you use the latest version of Nero 6 (6.6.0.16), that's pretty hard to beat. Nero also uses overburning to burn past where the disc ususally can go up till. Even DVDs can be overburned with Nero if they're good quality. Personally, using branded cds, I haven't had more than 1 or 2 errors in a stack of 100, and generally that's because i was playing games while it was burning and the buffer got depleted. |

In my opinion Nero create diferent problems when you trying to burn audio cd. Why don't you try to burn mp3s like burning ordinary data discs. And to convert all songs to mp3s. Nero burning rom 6 or later has this feature

QUOTE Why don't you try to burn mp3s like burning ordinary data discs. This solution is only valid if your music player is able to play mp3 CD's. One of my music players is able to, the other one is not. And my car CD reader is not able to play mp3 CD's. So, I understand this guy who has to create regular CD discs. |

Nero is bloatware, and each new version gets more bloated, especially Nero Express or Smart Start. Several times I had problems reading and erasing RW discs burned by my friends who were using Nero Express.
I would recommend you to try ImgBurn, I downloaded it, but I havent installed it yet. It is very small, about 1 MB. |

i dunno, I like Nero, it's fast and convenient.
If you are uncomfortable with bloatware, just dump your Windows, easy as that xboxrulz |
