I just got finished installing Kubuntu and setting up a Lamp server. I am very impressed in
how easy it was to install. I used the live CD and It blew my mind that I could be running an OS and be installing the same OS at the same time. I was checking email, surfing the web and getting used to the feel of my OS while it was installing. Then to set up my LAMP I used one command: CONSOLE > sudo apt-get install apache2 php5 php5-mysql php5-gd mysql-server phpmyadmin This is the quickest I've ever setup a web server. I won't be using winsucks for a long time that is probably to never going to come. If you ask me it's easier to use than windows ever was anyway. The only problem I'm having is finding a driver for my printer. It's a Lexmark and all I can find on their website is a Linux Development Kit. Guess if I ever get bored enough I'll write a driver then share it with the world. |
