I have had many sites make themselves homepages without me even knowing, but no spy wear program or sweeper ever gets rid of it. Like one day I will just change my homepage, and that is all I will do for the day, and it changes back! I bought spysweep to get rid of it, but it doesn't delete all of the spywear, like some of the spywear won't let me delete, so it is very frustraiting. Is there a better way to stop the unwanted changing of the homepage?

used all the spybot.. adaware .. Nav.. MacAfee and everything i could think at that moment... nothing helped .. then i installed this nice free antivirus software by name AntiVir .. can be found at http://www.free-av.com/ ... i had to run this everytme i restarted my PC .. i did that for 4 times .. it found atleast 100 entries every time it ran at startup .. after the 4th search .. everything was clear .. if someone has that good time , u can try this .. well but after doing all this , I would strictly advice to throw away using that stupid browser and start using something like Mozilla firefox or Opera or anything at all other than IE .. personally I prefer Firefox .. |

First of all, try to avoid Porn sites and Warez sites as these kind of sites have the most pop-ups that have malicious code in it that would mess up your pc's. If you can't avoid these type of sites, then don't just click the OK button on every pop-up window. Read them first. Most of these pop-ups have a CANCEL option, if not then you can manually close it by using the ALT+F4 combo. But be careful, make sure you selected the right window coz you might accidentally close a different window. Lastly, use a secure browser like Mozilla Firefox that has a built-in pop-up blocker. Hope this helps.

All spyware/adware killers will permanently damage your system.
Spyware and Adware are only to be removed in one single way, and that is by uninstalling the program it came with. If you use malware killers, then you will damage the malware's uninstall mechanism which means, your pc will never be able to be cleaned again. Sure, they might delete some of the spyware, but you don't really believe that, do you? Companies today have plenty of ways to bypass these methods and hide themselves from these killers. C2 Media for example is practically uneradicatable. If you have some of their dirt, then using a Malware killer will make sure that you will never be able to get rid of it anymore. On topic: Just get Opera or Firefox, and you'll never need to worry about any of that. |

It's pointless remedying an illness without working on the cause. You'll only make it come back.
Therefore, first get decent habits, then cure urself. And you'll never need to worry about a thing. =P |

I can't understand it... Friends I know complain about spyware, viruses, etc. but I never seem to have any trouble (knock on wood). They always ask me to go and fix their computers, and I have no idea what they're doing, but they get some nasty stuff on there sometimes. It all comes down to common sense surfing. (Just between you and me, I think they're gettin it from lookin up porn sites
