Learn Visual Basic, you can do almost all basic DOS commands here too. And it can't be blocked. I created something called uLock that disabled all the restrictions off a win98 pc.... That was a while ago....

For anyone who may prefer Opera to Firefox, you simply replace appropriate part of the tutorial (directions upon entering the MS DOS shortcut) with this:
- ftp - o - ftp.planetmirror.com - login with anonymous (password = an email adress just make it up) - lcd c: (make sure you fill in a directory you can write to c:, or c:\temp , whatever) - get "pub/opera/win/754u1/en/java/ow32enen754u1j.exe" - close - exit |

QUOTE(jipman @ Jan 28 2005, 07:55 PM) Usually those systems are nothing more a maximized (full screen) Internet Explorer page, with Info on it about the rates or something else. What you first might want to know are the basic shortcuts for IE e.g. F1 = Internet Explorer help !! Shift + Click = Open link in new page Ctrl + h = history What can I do if the keyboard in the Internet Café doesn't have "Ctrl", "Shift" "Alt" and F1-F12" ? Does anybody have an Idea how to substitute these? You never find standard keyboards on airports, railway-stations or other public terminals, otherwise all you had to do to "hack" the system would be hitting "Alt+F4" Sometimes these public terminals use different browsers like Sitekiosk by FRIENDLYWAY |

I once observed one of those public interned hpones had crashed.
it was running windowsXP, and i was able to obtain its ipaddress. assuming...a) it was a un-patched windows-XP (because who goes round applying service packs to public phones) im sure someout could have had a lot of fun. |

Those Airport terminals are quite easy too.
This is how: Most of the terminals are 'locked' using a On screen keyboard without the special keys you usually need and a special browser. But they all serve www through a proxy server. All you need to do is to find out which servers they do allow you to go to. For instance, last time when i was in hong kong (the kai tak (or something) airport) I did this: Microsoft (and related servers) where allowed, I already thought of this while I was at home so I just uploaded some nice 'unlock tools' to the hotmail space and downloaded them at the terminal. (In that case, it was just the firefox setup note. It wasn't like that I went to the Hong Kong just for exploiting terminals, I was on vacation there happy hacking |

Wow, I didn't know that you can get around the fees for using public computers with these tricks. But what if you get caught? And isn't it morally wrong? It's like stealing...
But I probably won't mind giving it a try |

Isn't this more cracking than it is hacking? Anyway, GJ. Things like this are best tested on your own stuff, although that's impossible in some situations, like this one. So, it's good to go out and experiment on public stuff. Adds to the excitement too
