I only use google to be honest. Its a simple, plain page and quick (none of the junk like yahoo has)! It comes up with the general idea of what im searching for in the first page (most often the top one on the page!)

I love google. Even those who dislike Google have to admit it has completely revolutionized the way we find information. I recently read an article in the Atlantic magazine about how Google, and the internet in general, has completely changed society, right down to the way we think. Though Google may not be 100% relevant all of the time, they have made such a great amount of progress on the search algorithm, that we really do (pardon the cliche) have "the world at our fingertips." I am so accustomed to using google, and the little google search bar in the top right corner of my Safari browser certainly makes it as accessible as possible. Google's success and popularity has caused all other search engines to really step up their features, speed, and range, but in my book Google is still best. Which other search engine has become a verb, noun, and heck, even an adjective (in the dictionary, no less)?!

Google comprises so much more than just a search engine. Yes, there is web, image, video, scholarly paper, EVERYTHING search, and more services such as Gmail, Google Maps, even Google Earth, but there's even more below the surface. After having visited Google's headquarters in Mountain View last year (part of a Java Programming camp at Stanford), and discovering all the crazy new stuff google is working on (you can sample some of it under the "more" menu on the home page, the go to "google labs"), and the very nice work environment they have, you can tell that the founders of google aren't just in it for the money, they are out there to improve the world. I highly recommend exploring all the different services google offers (they're free!); you just might find one that's right up your alley.

Just as a final disclosure, I don't work for Google and am in no way associated with it (though it would be pretty cool to work there), I just think it's awesome. I've tried other search engines (Yahoo, Dog pile, Ask), especially some times when I get frustrated because I'm not finding the right result, but google is the most comprehensive, extensive, fast, reliable one out there. One other I'd recommend, though it doesn't seem to have quite the depth that google does, is Goodsearch, which I believe is associated with Yahoo. Each time you search, a set amount of money is donated to the cause of your choice (and there is a very long list, from schools, to teams, to hospitals, to charities, and much more), with no limits, and you don't have to sign up or do anything, just search away. Have fun!

Google has never failed me (although the information I need is usually on Wikipedia tongue.gif). I really like Google's interface, and although the more "specific" searching could still use some work, the basic searches are pretty good.

However, when I searched ALL the keywords of my website (which has had about 100 hits so far) it didn't show up, and I went to page ten. All of the pages that came up were completely irrelevant to my website, and I don't know how I'll get any new visitors :S.

Ya, Google has never failed me either. I can just go and search anything and it will be there. No matter how stupid the question is or how hard the question is, for me it will be there. You just have to look. mellow.gif

Personally, I almost always use Google. I can't really think of any time I don't use Google or wouldn't want to! It's probably because Google is probably more developed and a has a lot more technology to it than other search engines.

yes, infact it's my homepage happy.gif

google results are nice and clean compared to yahoo's or ask.com. Plus I believe google search engine itself is smarter than any other search engine out there, so you know you are getting the best results.

I use google all the time because its built in to my internet explore bar above the website. Its also the most used which doesn't mean its the best but often it does mean just that. I do use Ask.com every now and then but google is my main source. Google it wink.gif

It's probably shallow for me to say but I'm stuck to google's interface. I need my stuff to be organized and Google has text color coordination and with Yahoo! search... eh. I could live with it but I personally don't prefer it. I'd use Live search over it any day though.

Well, the google interface is quite simple, it loads fast, it works on most of the browsers, it looks quite good.. because it's simple and light, they save lots of bandwidth, if it would be a big page, loading a lot of stuff every time, I think I would stop using it or would choose if available an alternative of google like "old google" tongue.gif
