I don't know if you have uploaded before with Flash but if you haven't try another FTP-program. If you have then it's maybe because the server has some problems today, like M^E already said in shoutbox.

Try using these different FTP clients.

www.CuteFTP.com
www.SmartFTP.com

Both very good programs. You can at least try them

I did try mulitple FTP programes and they all give me the same problem and messages like:

"An error occurred opening that folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder. The operation timed out."

"! Socket Error: operation timed out or aborted
~ Could not retrieve directory listing for "/"
~ Disconnected"

so on and so on... I do not think that the FTP program is the problem. This problem has been on going from 04-18-2005

I think that I have found a solution to this problem. I do not know if this will work for everyone but it worked for me... I was playing around with different settings in windows and one thing I did was disabled the firewall. After I disabled the firewall the FTP worked fine... I was able to upload and download files from the server using FTP. The problem was gone. So I guess that every time I want to use my FTP account I will then have to disable my firewall. I think that this solution is a little odd?

I have the same problem. I got hosted sinsce a few days and yesterday tried to acces ftp. It worked, but when i uploaded files, after a while it said the same as mentioned before. I use windows xp proffesional sp2 and i used smartFTP and FTP with IE. It didn't worked. And shuting down the firewall, dind't helped either. Are this server problems or is this my computer. (since this problem is not only mine i think it are server problems).

I recommend FlashFXP why?

Strong encryption can be applied to the site manager to protect your information.
Roll back on resumed file transfer to prevent corruption.
Fully recursive file transferring (uploading, downloading, site to site).
Transfer files of all sizes, no 2gb/4gb size limit like some ftp clients.
Internal Schedule (Transfer or Stop a queue at a specific time).
Calculate the size of all files in a specified path.
Enhanced drag-and-drop functionality.
Folder Bookmarks to provide one click access to any folder.
Grouped SITE custom commands.
Anti-idle keeps connection active.
Minimizes to system tray.
Optional displaying of Owner/Groups/Attributes.
Site Stats, keeps track of your uploads/downloads and overall totals.

Now these are only some of the features but they are the features i believe make FlashFXP better than the rest!
