Thanks,
Because Linux is built up from loose parts it performs better, like a computer. If you buy a Dell, you end up having a computer that has all the hardware it promises with HyperTreading and stuff. But which performs badly. If you create one yourself, you can select the best suitable hardware and create a Uber-machine (I like that word 'uber'). |

I'm not even sure which Linux I used, that may be a reason the reason why I don't like it. But I'm also certain that not all Windows was created for gaming, entertainment, etc. Look at Windows XP Proffesional for example. And all the programs they have to offer for buisness.

QUOTE(PC Astray @ Feb 26 2005, 12:35 PM) That's very obvious but Windows XP is way to go for home users as most programs are built to work with this OS.I agree that is built with many security flaws but Microsoft is taking measures to correct that but it is too late as they have already earned themselves a bad image in front of the world. They have entered the antispyware market by purchasing GIANT Antispyware, gave it a new name and interface and about to force their way into the antivirus market agressively by integrating both security software into SP2's Windows Security Center, which will benefit us but not antivirus/antispyware vendors. Okay, so they are faking the movements trying to look good, but it is way to little too late... Also I think that the term many security flaws is wrong.... I feel the proper term would be unending amounts of security flaws.. Granted, there are security flaws inherant to all Operating systems, but come on, Micro$oft, do a little security testing before releasing a product. |

QUOTE My self i like UNIX (SUSE 9.2 pro) hehe..... Definition of irony.... The guys who were planning on developing a free open source operating system Knew that many people would confuse it with unix... so they decided to give it a name GNU (recursive acronym) for GNU is not Unix. so the full anme of suse would be said to be... SuSE - Gnu is not Unix Operating system with a linux kernel. and yet still people call linux unix. ALSO, peeople are always calling WINE an emulator... despite its name (again recusrive acronym) WINE Is Not an Emulator. hehe. |
