Well, 1 post a day is not too hard. But may I collect 20 credits or more and then let it deducte to 0? Moreover, does my credits be deducted ever day even if I don't have a web hosting to keep? If so, that's much over what I expect.

Uhm those answers are actually given on several places on this site.
- Yes you can go up to as many credits as you want, I am hosted here and have 250 or more credits. - You will lose a credit a day when you are HOSTED, and only then. - You are not required to post daily, the only requirement is that you keep your credits at a good rate. |

While reading across this, I came along a HORRIBLE message: my hosting credits will be reset as soon as I'm accepted member? Why the xxxx is that? I can't move my site right now, because I need to take care of preparations and so on, but c'mon, that's not fair, if I lose all the credits I achieved by now, as soon as I am approved!
I mean you practically ask me to stop posting until my account is approved, what are the thoughts behind that? I'll enjoy astahost anyway, as soon as I'm hosted, but this rule makes no sense to me. Another question I got: On the /process you can see an option called "Award Points". Is this really possible? I guess, none of you selfish people ever tried :-P just kidding. Because this would mean that a friend of mine who is also working on my website could also signup without ever trying to get approved and send his points to me, right? And this would also mean, that if I really need an answer I could award points to the one who answers my question, because I'm such a thankful person ^^ I guess no one does that, but maybe it will occur one day. |

Well... the reason why your credits are reset once again is because it won't be fair if you start of your hosting with 100 credits !!! That means you have your hosting and not have to post for 100 days. Once you get hosting, your credits will reduce at the rate of 1 credit per day. But if you are not hosted, they are not reduced which means, you get to keep all the credits you earn. In fact, if you don't want hosting, the credits don't make any sense.
So... to make sure that you don't start off with too many credits in the beginning itself, your credits are reset to 3 irrespective of how many you may have upto that moment as soon as you get your hosting. About the 'Award Points' thingy, I don't know. I think there was something like that sometime ago, but that was before I became a member. For some reason, they (the admins) decided to do away with them. Hope this helps you out |

but i dont think this is a fair system. i found the parapgraph in opaques post myself now, but i disagree. when i sign up now and get approved, i will end up with 3 credits instead of 80-30=50->50-3=47(days since signup)
if i had gotten approved directly with my 30th credit i would have 30-30=0-> 3+50-3 so i would end up with 3 extra credits to the scheme that I consider fair. Ok, ok, you make the rules, but I think this is not a fair scheme considering new members. I will stop posting right here, until I'm ready to move. So this is actually bad for Astahost too, right? I would really appreciate if an admin told me, that I can keep some percentage of my posts. I have been an active member the last three days and I'm planning to keep it this way, but I think it is not fair if I have to pay for my hosting with 77 points instead of 27, even though I was not a member for long. |

Hehe.. life's really unfair sometimes buddy
If it helps in anyway - I wasn't quite accustomed to the credit reduction methods - so I'd quickly piled up about 130credits after my starter package - all of which went down the drain once I got the upgrade.. but here I am |

Lol, i see. life sucks! (in the beginning at astahost). if i try to award my credits to someone it just says "can't continue" that's sad, i'd like to bribe someone with my creds ^^.
I thought the credit award system was a very good idea, but it doesn't seem to work. Is there an explanation for that/will it work when I'm hosted? i didnt think it will be difficult for to keep up with posting (as long as im in school, but then I hope that I found someone who liked my project that much that he hosts it). well look forward to my hosting request now. |

Credit award system will allow only the wealthy guys to use it.. hehe. So that the poor guys don't waste themselves in greed. hehe.. Well, it will only allow you to award credits if you have more than 30. So, only credits over 30 can be awarded. This is done so that people don't exhaust their credits and cry after their account gets suspended.
And I think, it can be used only by hosted members. |

Ok good to know :-) But now that I'm hosted and that I have some credits I could help fellows with low income?
I think it would be cool if points could be awarded by non-hosted members because this way, people who enjoy your website could help you by awarding you credits (instead of a money donation they give you a time donation. I kinda like that idea, because I am myself not able to donate money). You make the rules, of course, but well, I plead for some small changes for fairness :-) |
