QUOTE(Dementour @ Feb 3 2005, 09:04 AM) I never saw the point in Pokemon, I think its because I dont like Manga animation. The action sequences were treated poorly and had too many characters to keep up with, most have pathetic powers. If its because there were too many characters then they should have kept a lowdown saw they could of giving them better powers etc. Personally I would say Yu-Gi-Oh is better but thats because I was forced to see the movie in the theatres with my cousin. I know it may be bit of a rip-off but it was more entertaining and I loved the characters more. I guess I havent really given Pokemon a chance, and to be honest I dont really want to. Sorry to those Pokemon fans out there but its just my personal opinion. I know its definitely ideal for some people because I see them with the Pokemon cards and other merchandise. But it just doesnt do it for me proper term is anime not manga animation, manga is a comic stlye book as well as a compant that produces anime, at least you didnt say japanimation. I used to love the series and game, then came magic the gathering, then dungeons and dragons, not i'm hooked on white wolf's role playing series world of darkness. |

The RPG games, meaning just really the GameBoy ones, are good. Quite addictive even though they are exactly the same thing with different maps and more/different pokemon. I still play them and currently am halfway through Ruby still.
[Yeah, I know I am slow. I lost my GBA for months.] |

I like pokemon games, I finished blue, silver and gold versions. I don't like the diamond version it sucks. The sapphire is great. There is a cheat for pokemon blue, infinite items. If you go to seafoam island and walk perpendicular to the beach (half of water half of land) you will battle pokemons that reach level 78 and above. Keep on walking back and forth until you will battle a wierd pokemon named missing no, catch it or destroy it, run from it... You item in the 6th slot will be 99. I played this and I enjoyed it, I put the master ball on the 6th slot and waaa, it's 99, and also gold nugget, wow lots of cash. You will be able to capture all types of pokemon even level 100. Battle in the seafoam Island and gain level. There are also pokemon in seafoam island that appear level 150 or 130+. Very strong, but you can catch them by master ball. THe only sick thing is that if you use this pokemon level 100+ and you win, the pokemon will degrade it's level. back to lv100. BUt at least the items were infinite. It is enjoying game it's just quite long.

I have Blue and Red versions, and I haven't played them for a very long time. My brother just got a DS for his birthday, and I was wanting to play some of my old games. I got out the pokemon games and I was so ticked off when the old games didn't fit into the the DS. Very disappointing.

I like Pokemon a lot. I just like the Red and Blue Versions vs. the Yellow b/c it just gets too easy. I tried to get into Gold and Silver, but I just didn't like them. Soon after, the whole Pokemon craze just got too far beyond me. I made the mistake of actually watching the show a little while ago, and I had hardly any Idea of the Pokemon Ash was using.
When Pokemon first came out, ANYONE who was a true RPG gamer took a good look at it. However, opinions shifted when Nintendo decided to promoted it as a cheesy, kid-friendly, playground gossip, "Gotta- catch 'em all", elementary school romp. At least this is were I began to play Pokemon only in the comfort of my own home versus out in public Not that this was a bad thing though. Children ate this stuff up and cemented Nintendo as the leading hand-held king. The older kids simply went back too the Final Fantasies and Zeldas that had always been highly respected among mature gamers. I still enjoy finding a level 120 Mewto off the coast of Cinnabar and smashing him with one of my 99 Master Balls every now and then. LOL! -KAP |

Man..I remember when Pokemon first came out all those years ago. I never really got hooked into it, but I did think the little characters were cute.
And like most of you, I picked up 2 of the games: Pokemon Yellow, and Silver. I never played through the games seriously though...I used my Game Shark to get all of those Mega-powered Pokemon early in the game so it made for an easy play. |

I used to play Pokemon, but now it seems like they're trying anything to keep the franchise alive. How many different variations of the colors Red, Blue, Yellow and Green are they going to use for the Game Boy titles???
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed playing through Red and Blue and even working on Stadium. Having the Pokemon evolve after a given number of levels was a pretty good incentive to level-up your pokemon. However, the makers are stretching the series to the point where it's the same game but with different names. |
