Magic to me is just a really clever trick or illusion that someone uses to manipulate the viewing audience. Although the magic trick itself is sometimes awesome to see there is really not truth behind it but a mere scam to trick your mind and keeps you guessing. For example, a very famous magician most of you probably would know is Chris angel I believe, he is a very amazing magician that does things that I didnt think could be humanly possible. How he set up his tricks and makes others believe its real is amazingly good. Too hard for anyone to even figure out how something like what he does is done. I remember watching one of his episodes where he did a trick where he seperated a human being at a public park and the other half left their body freely as the other half stood there freaked out of what happend. He is an amazing and probably well respected magcian. Real or not its entertainment on its own that is satisfying to many. I however would like to see something real, like a flying flaming person or a teleporting person, something real would be nice.

So you really believe that the person was teleported by the magician on the TV? It's just a trick and magic is much much easier to make on TV when in front of people, the hardest way to do magic is in an amphitheatre in front of people, which isn't to big, I mean the amphitheatre smile.gif

acctually, he did it in front of people.. He was outside doing it.. and he had three minutes to remove some ropes, or else a 5 Ton block would fall on him.. and then, 3 minutess later, he was in a house that took atleast 10 mins to run to.. and remeber that he had ropes, and that the ropes was so hard tied, so they needed atleast 5 mins to take off, and then he would need 10 more minutess to run to the house..

Magic is what keeps me into fantasy video games. I think magic can be used as a term for something fantastic, or something to use as a surprise... Something to entertain people, but only in reference. I have grown up seeing all of the tricks, and that is what they are... tricks. I do believe in trickery as used as gags and for jokes. Illusionists, these are the present day magicians. I have seen David Copperfield and David Blane perform feets of great mystery. I think magic is pulling off something that is extremely hard to do, but is still possible.

So magic is fiction, and I like that magic is around to keep me into fantasy, and that is where is should stay.

Harry Potter, Final Fantasy and so on... they were good at making magic.

Wow. Did I seriously see this as a title? I'm shocked. No, brain control is not magic. I'm pretty sure that could be paralleled with mind washing, and I see a lot of people being mind washed by the government. That's no magic----that's just an arena we don't understand well. The psychologists (and psychology is a science) are attempting to understand it, but pretending that it's just magic implies the lack of a need to understand. And come on, how does magic explain any of this? What has "magic" done that would explain any of this? What is your purported magic anyway?

Magicians on TV are just doing something for entertainment; it's not as if they're junk. It's not like we all don't know that they have their little tricks that allow their illusions to succeed. We just don't know what those tricks are, and it's often amusing to watch them and try to figure it out.

Show me someone who claims to have "real" magical powers, and I'll show you someone who won't stand up to and kind of test. Sure, I appreciate that "magicians" are very talented people, but that doesn't mean they have actual magical powers at their disposal. Illusions are great, and a combination of them added with the magician knowing a little about how the mind works, and they can work wonders at seeming real.

It depends on your definition of magic. Some people might call things that can be explained by science magic, or illusions. Most of the things people think of as magic, say levitating, teleportation, etc. Could be done with science.

Though it only takes common sense to see that witches riding on broomsticks, turning people into frogs and making magical potions don't exist.

I've occasionally watch Criss Angel Mind Freak, it seems pretty real. Gotta wonder how he does it though. At the start of one episode though, he walked through a fence, then they changed the angle and there's a gap, lol.

I don't know if I believe it or not though.

There is the kind of magic though that you see on little kids shows or in fantasy things which no, I don't believe in.
