If (no idea how) you partioned a pen drive into 3+ drives, could you have multiple live os's? Would you need to make a boot menu?

Vdesign, that can't be right. DSL is barely smaller.

Check for the portable Win Xp on torrent. Its just 60MB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems very nice. Did you try it ? Does it work with your PC and your USB flashdisk ? And how does it work ? Does it need a special formatting tool ?

I dont see the point in making a bootable linux to fix jobs on emergency cases in Windows. I do think most PCs out there have a CD drive to better boot in making emergency repairs and backups. Personally, I just use this handy dandy BartPE. Whats nice about it is that it has almost everything you need from anti-virus to registry editor to a boring games for waiting status upon repairing.

It has huge collection of freeware programs that can really dissect your PC. It can also connect you to the internet since it can have network support upon booting. It loads fast on my PC than the usual boot on USB. You can see all your files NTFS or FAT unlike those bootable DOS drive that only limits to FAT. For those who are really fanatic on booting on USB to impress you friends on how you spend useless money on flash disk, there is also a conversion on CD to USB on BartPE.

What the only negative would be.. 1st, you must have a copy of Windows XP installation and reading its instructions! Its quite short but many things might go wrong, I just hope they just come up with pre-setup ISO for easy burning that could end up on Microsoft Legal Craps.

Here are the links anyway! Go ahead and try IT!

Hi,

Get the HP tool from this site: http://www.thepcspy.com/read/bootable_usb_flash_drive

And use it to create your bootable usb flash disk.

From my experience this has been the easiest way to make a usb disk bootable.
No need to do any technical research or any complicated procedures.

Then click next>next>next!!!!!!!!

You can also get the hp usb drive format tool directly from the hp site :
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechS...TX-UNITY-I23062
However, I got better results with the driver from the distro described here : http://figuig-aide.com/ma/telecharger/syst...ition-2007.html
and downloaded from here : http://rs284.rapidshare.com/files/78853965...dition_2007.rar

Any one have you worked on bootingup linux OS from secondary memory device such as USB for mobile. This is simillar to the above discussion, but i want to boot my mobile from my optimized small linux os, So that i can run my applications on this linux OS.

If you have already done this, then it will be great knwoledge sharing from you.

Or if you are aware of such development in some forums pls let me know, I know that there are many company working on the Mobile Linux but that is not solution to my issue.

There was a mobile released last year by Openmoko, This mobile was verry good for developers. In this mobile we can copy directly our mobile application using USB and run it, How intresting right?.

But badluck is that all the handset were sold out within one week, I infact looking for same used set.

but used set also not avilable in e-bay smile.gif ( no one prefer to sell this type of handset)
