Still haven't got a chance to play with phpBB3 yet. So security holes are found already? LOL. SimpleMachines Forum rules biggrin.gif

@Adolf222: Did you manage to install SMF properly?

the security part doesnt bother me much.
I cant wait for it to be stable so as soon as thats released ill get it.
but i suppose its only RC1 so it will be a while but i cant wait.
Ive got it installed, www.habbofront.com/forums
im figuring out how to make a theme, to look exactly like my site that the forum is for.
when it comes to designing a theme ive always liked IPB.

Actually, I DO NOT recommend you to use any RC software for main usage as the software may change significantly until it is stable.

really?
why not?

I dont expect any people who go on my site to be smart enough to do anything to it. Except some super nerd at school that hates me cos im inmature. hes always hacking sites and he knows mine and at one stage he was trying to hack into my computer...

I just went on the phpbb site and RC2 was released today

im gonna see wot its like

Its the most annoying and frustrating thing to upgrade ever.

If You want to change from phpbb to smf you have to use a script that allow you to change table in the data base from phpbb structure to smf structure
you have to ask the support forum of the smf

The reason is because there's many bugs and oftentimes they would change the software dramatically right before release. Usually that happens.

But in this case, converters are supported for RC releases. Meaning they will support database converters for RC1 -> RC2 (or Release). It is rather stable and supported.

Same case here, security doesn't bother me one bit for my rather small community. Also included robots.txt and removed my cached/search files from Google.

mmm... you can convert the databases for it, patience is the key to that though :l

Its stable enough for me so ill keep using it and *trying* to upgrade it when new versions come out!
