EBay is not for the little guy anymore. Shoot eBay itself sells you stuff. Too, too many fees! you have to pay for the product you list, then eBay gets its cut whether it sells or not, aka-PayPal "eBay" then digs a little further into your pocket, and after all that you have to pay to package the item and in some cases eat the shipping costs as well. And thats if your listing is not cancelled by eBay for some silly excuse. Not the same place anymore, I sure wish Yahoo would have stayed on. If I knew then what I know now I would have switched to them in a heartbeat, never knew eBay would get so ugly. I have been with eBay, since they practically opened their doors, but seeing how nasty they have become, I truly have second thoughts. If youre not a corporation or mega seller, its not worth selling anything on eBay. EBay now caters to big business and I think these idiots help police eBay in order to get rid of the little guy so they can sell their junk at high dollar, as they eliminate their competition. If I can recall correctly eBays roots consisted of the average Joe, dont remember it was all about mega sellers & big companies. What a sell out, if people had wanted to deal with big companies and so forth, why shop on eBay, when many of them have sites of their own. EBay is truly lostouch.
EBays listings now consist of eBays valued sellers listings showing up first and whether you are a decent seller or not, youll be lucky if your listing shows up somewhere in the middle or last. Therefore deal or not, does not matter on eBay, you get the deal eBay decide you ought to have. Therefore dont be surprised if you dont sell an item on eBay even if it dirt cheap and all you get is scam email from people trying to get into you email, paypal, and ebay account trying to take more of your $$$. -reply by average JOE |

I bought my first item (a drill) on Ebay about a year ago, and it went through absolutely GREAT. Yes, I paid for shipping, but it arrived within a few days and there were no problems. Not to mention I saved about $150 off the store price! I've bought several other things, from electronics to ancient Roman coins, and about two weeks ago I actually bought a car off of it. I've never been scammed at all, and everyone I've dealt with has been polite and honest.
Ebay is a great site, and although there are scammers once in a while, it's well worth it. Personally, I've saved about $750 overall, and have gotten several items that would be VERY difficult to get without it. |

I disagree with the original poster.
Ebay is fast, reliable and basically scam free. Everything is down to what is written inside the item description, for example technically it is not scamming if it says ''Ipod not included'' or whatever but the buyer buys the ipod thinking ''ZOMG CHEAP IPOD'' Also people start there items off at like $0.1 cents because people think its a bargin and it therefore may start a bid war and the price will raise higher and higher as time goes on. |
