You can activate Windows XP manually without an internet connection by calling the Microsoft Support on the phone number supplied during activation, and will guide you through the process of manually activating Windows XP. There are only really two ways to activate Windows XP, i.e. through the internet or by phone manually.

The activation over the phone is also quite simple since it's all automated. No lineups required. Something that Microsoft managed to do correctly.

It's a good thing I have a Bought Version of Windows XP. I don't see why Microsoft is so stingy about this though, only a very small percent of Windows XP Machines are using Hacked Software. If I was Bill Gates, or another Worker of Microsoft I would just be happy that anyone bought a copy of Windows, its overpriced and under performing.

They are glad, something about if someone got an illegit copy of something massive, m$ think they will buy the smaller(!) stuff like Office.

Well the security updates is only ****, have done this before and downloaded the latest updates. Guess what happened? Well the computer just got slower and slower. And a good firewall fixes all the issues anyways, well maybe not if you are up against a "1337 hacker" but if someone wants to mess with my computer that are so good (no scripkiddie) then they probably have too much time on their hand. 99.99% of all the infections is from:

Pornsurfing and downloading suspicius files
Which a experienced user just don't do. (well not searching for "porn" on google anyway).

To conclude it:
*Security updates isn't of any value, it is more likely to mess up your computer after a while.
*A good firewall will be enough
*The only way you would attract attention from a 1337 hacker is if you act like a jerk on the webb and then you "had it coming"
*Don't download suspicius files and don't surf the whole webb for porn, even with the latest updates this won't protect you from getting viruses/trojans/malware

Well this is my thoughts of this and if by a chance of a million I would get hacked and my computer would get messed up then I would just reinstall it (I do this every now and then anyway) and I'm not stupid enought not to have backups on all of my important files.
