I've only worked with paintshop pro, but it works fine. For the beginner (as i was), its easy to use.

For me, neither.
I much prefer Macromedia Fireworks, now known as Adobe Fireworks However, for intensive graphics, go for the best, which is Photoshop. The only true lacking thing in Fireworks is the depth and control of Styles and Effects you get in PS. I tried PSP once and didn't like it one bit. It is cheaper, and many recommend it for novices - intermediates. But your experts want to be on PS. |

either program is fine, but i'd say photoshop definitely rocks all. you can like do the most with it and it's really compatible and it's REALLY good. but if you're going for freeware cause photoshop's like 100$, i'd go forrr GIMP...it has like all the same things as photoshop (excluding a couple), and considering it's freeware, i think you're getting a pretty good deal.

QUOTE(pokbunnag @ Dec 16 2005, 10:12 AM) Anyone here use Paint Shop Pro? I would like to know that which one is better for designing a Web between Paintshop Pro and Photoshop. I feel that Photoshop is realize with a picture, not mostly for web. Notice from miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG:
Pokbunnag aka Poqepaq - so u joined up with another nickname eh ? Anyway, since you're a non-native english speaker, we're going to be lenient about this. But make sure you READ the forum descriptions carefully before making a post. The tutorials section isn't there for asking questions - for such questions use the Graphics Design related forums.
i feel image ready is better for wev designing |

I tried paintshop but it wasn't easy to cut out pieces of images from the original picture. I haven't tried the latest PSP but I prefer to use Photoshop 9 because i think it's the best out there.

Well to be very clear about the comparisons between the two programs, Adobe Photoshop is the most powerful and offers more effects and tools, however Paintshop Pro is great for beginners, but ive not used it that much at all. Photoshop in my opinion would be the best for anyone wanting to create graphic projects or web layouts, its easy to learn and the outcomes are fantastic. Photoshop im sure overall is the best for designers and offers more resources in communitys such as deviantart.com

I think it depend on skill of designers that they like to use PhotoShop or Paintshop.Photoshop is a useful program, proper to apply for picture such as retoughing, croping, resizing but paintshop stress on CG or computer graphics. It has many many tools for painting more than Photoshop. So which one best for web-graphics it's not clear to agree that what the best for web-graphics? but i think Photoshop maybe better than paintshop for web-graphics because photoshop is also more variedness tools.
