i think you might be right with saying that gogle is goig to kcik everybodys ass soon and there are some things that now seem great but they will get deep into our privatsphere.
google is now ruling in the search engine industry and this is i say is fair enough since they really do haqve the best search engine. the organic rankings are absolutley free and gogle is giving free traffic worth millions of dollars every day. why should they keep doing that and earn such a small part on their sponsored listings. why should they not instead of sending you to ebay to buy a product, sel it to you straight away. why shouldn't google keep track of all the things you look for and make a profile of each surfer and what he does, plays, looks at, reads and buys. why shoulnd't they want to use this information to make an extra dollar for themselves? Because google was inventet to only order the worlds information? Cause they are GOOD guy? I think to trust anyone who holds so much power as google does is very dangerous.... |

Yes, Google definately has a very good image, and have really good services, as opposed to most big companies. But, what will happen once they are in control of everything? That is scary
It is true that someone with so much power can't be trusted, just look at M$ :S |

It does seem that Google is getting into a little bit of everything... First their search engine and from there on everything else! I've been using google since 1999 I think and have loved it. It is the only engine I use and rely on it very much. Since its release out of Beta, it has expanded very much. It's own e-mail, froogle, and toolbar.
Today I was looking on the homepage and notice google earth! A program that lets you zoom in on pretty much any part of the world! How crazy is this getting! Google has gone way farther then I ever thought.... But who knows, for the better? |

QUOTE(Vyoma @ Nov 28 2005, 05:24 AM) In one sense, yes, the Google is feared. But it is feared by its competitors in the field it moves. As an end user, it is good for me. Competitors should be fearing each other. That would make it possible for a drive to serve better. And who profits from good service? End-users. There are some services provided by Google that made them beat the other competitors atleast in terms of me as the sole end-user. Here are the services that I use from Google: -Search Engine: There is no denying they are good at it. It was rare that I went to any other search engine like Yahoo or AskJeeves, even long back when I started to use internet. -Friends gouping (Orkut): It is a good one, and I am connected to more of my friends there than Hi5 or something else. -Email (GMail): This, in my opinion is one of the most cherished of the Google's services I use. I mean, it is simple, robust and clutter free - what can beat that? -Marketing (AdSense and AdSearch): I have not been much of a fan about the link or banner exchanges and all the pay-for-click jargons. But these services from Google really made me think. I do not vouch for them yet, but I still have to try it out. -Blogging (Blogster): I was not much of a guy who maintained a journal or diary. But Blogs, in perspective of Blogster made it much more easier, and I have started doing it. I do not know how long it will trudge. I have a fair idea of the hiring criteria of Google and I have to tell that they have got a talented bunch working there. Yes. We should fear, for Google may just dominate the world. [Note: All information I provided here are my own opinion due to the experiences I have. I do not have exact proofs for the things I said, but I got a fair idea. So, do not rely on what I said. Go look for yourself. you spoke exactly my mind! Gmail is the best service or google i think, almost everyone is leaving their old email account and coming to gmail. google search is the second best i think, i used it for my searches and i think they are better than yahoo or other search engines. seeing so many people using blogging, i am thinking of trying it.. although i dont like the idea! there are other services, like google map, google earth, google group, google news (which is not bad news source either), images search which i quite often use, and there are lot bunch or services.. i guess yea, they are looking forward to take over the internet bests... and they arent bad either... their services are really cool, and at least they are free as of yet!! do you guys think google will make us pay for their services later on, caz i am getting addicted to them!! |

well i think google is going for the user friendly way of things, because since they make most of thier programs and services user friendly everyone uses it! for example you can use any name, or email address for gmail, you dont even have to use thier interface, you could be using them for thier space and they wouldnt care. and msn is soon going to be able to be used on google talk and everything else that google offers is all user friendly and completly customizable.
anf if google decides to make an OS is going to be hell because there is going to be alot of people who will buy it, google being user friendly will make it cheap and offer alot more customization over windows and cheaper and just overall better. and once google puts microsoft out of business and other big companies like amazon, paypal, and ebay out of business they will make everything a paid service, then youll have to pay for all thier services, and there are no other alternative because they all went out of business, and they will probably make you buy a monthly lisence for thier OS and jsut bring it a tonne of cash then a newer, younger company will come along with alot of money and do the exact same thing google did, and it will just continue to be a vicious circle, i cant believe whats going on... this is crazy |

Google's a great company... I've had previous interactions with them and their staff are friendly as can be, and very informative.
as much as we would like to think of it coming true, Google isn't going to take us over... if anything, they are opposite of Microsoft... Just my view on things! [N]F |

Lol its inevitable, google was created by to nerds with the the thought to create a search engine that can index every website on the internet and since then they have succeded in making the most powerful search engine available on the net and its free! but since then they have offered so many other free things that are just amazing. there is hardly anything that google asks you to pay for which is just google eart pro and adwords, is there something else they ask money for? i dont know
but google is awesome and they will be gaining a monopoly soon enough and they will definetly not be going any where because they are just so loved by every one, including myself |

As Bill Gates once said "In order to survive, you need people to need you, or else you'll die" (not exact quote).
So, I think Google might take over the world but not as evil as Micro$oft. xboxrulz |
