I will find out if AstaHost has automated checkout for hosting credit purchase. And I will let admins know and have it available for all--that is if it exists. In the mean time, please make sure that your hosting credits are above 10 possibly at all times. This will make your life less complicated Yeah, I generally like to maintain at least 150 credits. You know, just in case something happens like I slip into a comma for 5 months. Some of the heavier posters have well over 500 and microscopic^earthling takes the cake at over 800. Right now I'm floating around that 220 mark and find it difficult to stop accumulating more credits. Seems like I earn credits every time I post here. Anyhow in all seriousness, the credit purchasing concept is a good one. While we prefer everyone to just remain active, we understand that sometimes things come up and it is hard to post as a result. The best part of the credit system is that in is inherently a rollover system. Since your credits never expire, purchasing them in addition to what you earn from posting is the most economical method for web hosting. True paid hosting requires you to pay every period no matter how much you contribute otherwise. Credit buying allows you to simply extend your hosting duration. Maybe we should have a credit lottery too. vujsa |

QUOTE Maybe we should have a credit lottery too. Haha... that is a good one, vujsa. I am all for credit lottery. So, the prize should be like, let's say, 1 million credits... Yup, i'm all for credit buying. Not that I need it now but I think it is a good concept. And the process would have to be automated, like what transx said. |

Basically you pick a number and if you get lucky you win, of course if you read the book the lottery then you were chose to be sacrificed to appease a demon. Yeah it's been awhile since I read that book, someone else who read correct me on that If I am wrong.
Although I am a bit shocked that that the credit purchase is done through sales and not set up like it is on trap. |

hey i feel why not create a sytem that anyone could sell the hosting credits to each other and at whatever costs they want so the posters could earn money and those who dont want to post could buy those credits at a cheaper cost and it would lead to a win-win situation for both

We have an existing credit transaction system like that in place. However, you cannot purchase credits for money - instead supposing someone has a severe computer related problem and wants an immediate solution (without waiting for the forum members to reply at their own pace) he/she can offer a certain Credit Reward to anyone who can help that person out.
The most eligible recipient is decided by the person who announces the reward. However to guarantee the safeguard of the recipient, the announcer must transfer the credits reserved for the award to our credits bank. In short, we act as an escrow service in such cases. Once the announcer has managed to solve his/her problem the credits are transfered by us to the recipient. |

This is a good idea because when I went to Hong Kong, I was out for a few days while applying an account at Astahost from Trap 17 back in '05.
Now, I have 30+ credits, so I don't worry as much anymore xboxrulz |

I was suspended lately. Haven't been suspended for quite a while. Was back for Raya celebration 2 weeks ago, to my wife's home town, no internet access, and until now still busy with my back log.
Anyway, I notice that even after I was suspended, my point still get deducted everyday, why? It wasn't the same before, or I didn't notice it before. But anyway, it shouldn't be, cause our hosting has been suspended, by right no more credit should be deducted. If it happen that I don't post anything for longer time, it would be harder to catch back to positive credit and resume my hosting. Hope I can catch up with the credit soon, don't like to see my hosting down for so long |

Here is suggestion two. Make a system that automatically emails the primary account when your credits get below lets say three days and another when it reaches one day. I got this idea from DynDNS. They email you five days before your domain will expire.
