If you want to protect the HTML code of the site, I don't think you can do that. In Opera, pressign Ctrl+F3 and Ctrl+U in Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, etc. can view the source code.
However, just disabling the right click menu on the page is just a waste of bandwidth to load the script. The right click menu doesn't really provide any options. I know of a site who disables the right click menu. In Neopets, all the hops have the right click menu disabled. This is because people say that if you right-click the item and hold down enter, you will get a secret item/some other scam. So Neopets disabled it. QUOTE The not so convienient way: If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, Click on Tools, and then Internet Options. Click on the Security Tab and then set the security level to CUSTOM. Scroll down the options in the custom security box until you see Scripting. At the Active Scripting radio button, click disable and then the right click menu will be available when you right click but after you finished doing all your right clicking, remember to set it back so that Javascript will be enabled when you surf other sites. Um...why should you re-enable JavaScript for surfing other sites? Isn't it kinda useless? |

QUOTE Yeah this is indeed useless and just a waste of bandwidth of whoever thinks that this is really cool. Saint-michael said it was done somehow, but I don't see how it could be done (the disable of menu view source option) by a server side way or php.. I would like to see a website like that with my eyes, only then I would believe you, but if you browsed with IE it might of been something what only works with IE. Well, if you really wanted to turn people away from looking at your source code, you could just appeal to their laziness and parse your source code for all newlines so that the whole html file is all on one line. Of course if they had the patience to put in the line breaks and examine your source code, kudos to them. I sure don't. |
