because php has lots of build in function.??

C is a basic computer language

For me the question which language is best is to broad, I like perl for server side scripting, c# and c++ for modules for Diablo II (d2hacking botnet...) vb for fast/simple projects and even though it isn't really classified as a programming language (or is it?) I use autoit for alot of projects (v3 has some unique features i really like).

I like PHP. Its free and easy to learn yet powerful. The only limit is that it is only a web scripting language.

It is really hard to name "best" programming language, especially as the list contains languages designed for completely different tasks.

If I were to end up on a deserted island and I could bring only one programming language with me (OMG this is a stupid sentence...) I'd pick C++.

But as C++ has few really annoying things, I don't want to vote for it, so I'll just name my three favourites here: C++, Java and PHP. Pascal was the first programming language I learnt so there's a special love-hate relationship to it (biased more on the hate side though...).

Though I chose C++, it's really hard to say which one is the best computer language. Currently I'm thinking "What is the best process in software engineering: RUP, XP, TSP, ... But the answer maybe the same, the result seems to be determined by the requirement or what we should solve.

Anyway, I agree that the poll is: " which language you use the most,", that maybe useful for our programmers.

Most of the programming languages listed on the poll have some advantages and disadvantages over the other programming languages, but for the "best" programming language, I would have to say Python. Even though I know next to nothing about Python, I do know that it's a relatively new programming language that has great potential.

they each serve different purposes, so there is not really a best. maybe a favorite... but not a best
