I think the 7900 is available for agp ... I'm thinking of going for that one since it seems to be the end of the line for agp. Of course a little expensive, but I think I'll wait till the end of next month and then buy it.

abhiram, the GeForce 6600 is great, especially, it has an AGP version. I have it and it runs really well and my computer is older than yours and it can still play some really new games.

Well that's good to hear since it looks like I can get my hands on a 6600 without too much trouble. But since AGP is almost gone, maybe it is better to just wait for a little while and buy the latest AGP card right?

If you haven't yet bought your new graphics card, then here is my advice. I think your motherboard is good enough for many more graphic cards, but what I really suggest is getting a more up-to-date graphics card, just like what people above me said.

Yes, GeForce 6800 at LEAST is good, because that's what I'm planning to buy but I lost my money in the subway ($150 @#@%@!!!!)

But anyway, I believe the 6800 provides 256 MB RAM and pixel shader support 2.0?

The 7800 GT provides 512 MB RAM... or maybe 256... and maybe PS 3.0
Wait, is 3.0 out yet?

If I'm not mistaken, PS 3.0 comes with every card after 5200. But yea, the 6600 and 6800 seem really nice. I believe we can get 256 and 512 for almost all cards. In my area, a 6600GT comes to around 10,000 rupees (Indian currency) and I haven't even seen a 7900 in any of the shops around. But my guess is it'll cost around 15,000-20,000 rupees (compare that with the 5200 which is 2500 rupees wink.gif )

In any case I'm going to Mumbai in a week or so and I plan to scoop out the shops over there. I think I'll see for a while before buying so that this system can last atleast another year or so.

Hey yeah, I just bought the GeForce 7800GS APG card, and I was just wondering, cause it says something about a slot size to.0 or higher, and beside my slot in my mobo it says 1.5v or sumthing. Does that have anything to do with the slot size?
