After ages of searching i finally found a good domain name service. One that doesnt just forward to your url. I set it up in my cpanel as an addon domain with the two astahost nameservers, and within about 5 hours it was ready for use. Thats what i call a very quick service. Combined with cpanel it is really, a great service. www.uni.cc Do they require something for exchange for their service? I mean for example, banner or text link or something else? And what if the site does not have IP address? This post has been edited by aciminsk: Mar 20 2006, 02:03 PM |

QUOTE Do they require something for exchange for their service? I mean for example, banner or text link or something else? They require nothing. No ads, no banner, no text link. However, remember that they only offer the something.uni.cc domain name : no disk space, no site hosting. |

Here are two websites I'd recommend:
domainlagoon.com You have to fill out surveys that take "20 minutes" (more like an hour) and you get your own free .com .net .us. domain! You actually have legal ownership of the domain! www.tk You get your own free .tk domain. Almost instantanious, but has URL forwarding only. |

If only domainlagoon was available outside the US . . . and I want a free .com domain, too (a .com.au preferably). I've searched for eternities for someone who'll provide a free .com domain, and they simply do not exist. But, if anyone has seen one, or can get any .com domain for me, stop holding out on me and let me (or rather, us) know! This post has been edited by L337 kybldmstr: Nov 12 2006, 07:48 AM |

I like uni.cc it's great cuz it uses the dns options and it doesn't simply hide the url like co.nr, it's the best free domain xD

Hi
I am currently using http://www.freedomain.co.nr as a free domain name. I find their service is quite reliable plus co.nr is a pretty short name don't you think? Bill |

I use uni.cc because i find it's good and effective and i think it's great there's so many options you can do with it. I just wish they did a HTML option where you do your site in HTML because then you wouldn't have to sign up for more hosting somewhere else.
But for me, i find hosting and use it with my uni.cc I have loads of accounts on there and i admit that they have been down alot but thats because they've been making changes and im alright with that. |

I like www.freedomain.co.nr but sometimes when i feel like signing up for a new url, the sign ups are closed. Doesn't seem to happen anymore but when it does, it takes way too long for the sign ups to become available again.
Some free url cloakers are better than others u just have to look around. Some submit your site to google for free. Freedomain.co.nr is supposed to do that but it doesn't really work. |

I used to have a dot.tk, but now it's a bit anoying with so much ads... personally I think that a domain name isn't too expensive, maybe around $20 a year...

Domain names are extremely cheaply priced nowadays. I would rather not go through all the trouble of affliation or filling out surveys just to get a domain name - i would just buy it.
And i do not recommend tking your websites as the amounts of advertisements are discouraging for visitors. |
