Sounds like a good site to have, I don't really like the idea of hacking but if you really like hacking this is a good site to have. Personally i have no clue how to hack but if i did i would be all over it lol.

A hacker is can just be a person who specialises in security. It does not neccessarily mean a person who attacks other people's websites or develops 'cracks' for software.
The reason that HackThisSite.org is good is because it gives you to opportunity to learn about hacking and how you can apply it to your own website to prevent unauthorised access. It provides an insight into the hacker's mind so that you can prepare against his/her attack. The website also has articles on the variety of different hacking techniques, ranging from SQL injections to cookie editing. All this you can learn about hacking the 'legal' way. |

I joined hackthissite.org some time back and finished all the basic challanges and 3 or 4 of the realistic ones. It is kinda boaring after a while. It somewhat teaches you to hack but not other people's systems just servers. And because most thier relistic missions are fairly easy and you rairly have to actually edit the files, this game only teaches the hacking part. I like it how you are always the good guy, saving the kids from getting scamed out of money and respect.

hacking should be defined as a knowledge and it could be used positively or negatively depending on your choice and hacking is no suc thing even remotely as bad, because hacking itself is good to find a lot opf security holes ,just think what would have happen if there wouyld have been no good hackers, there would be no cybercrime guys and no other internet secutrity experts ,ther are many sites with a lot of security holes

I think that if you really want to understand something you have to approach it from different sides.
So to be a good webmaker, you have to have some understanding in hacking the stuff. It learns you how to secure you're site better and probably to spot hackers faster. So hacking can be used in the good way. Hacking sites with bad intensions, is in my opinion, a fairly bad thing to do. |

but but hacking is bad :-o "Hacking" the way most people think of it (with the common definition probably being something along the lines of "breaking into someone else's computer to take their data for the purpose of stealing their identity, selling private information to other people, stalking, committing a crime, or something similar") is bad, yes. Having hacking abilities isn't bad at all though, knowing how to hack (knowing anything about computers really) makes it easier to learn more about computers, and hacking, like others have said, is the only way to stop malicious hacking, otherwise it'd be like trying to design an alarm system for a house without thinking at all about how a burglar might try to get. |

Wow, I love this site. It's useful to learn HTML and PHP, and it's fun too. I'm now at mission four, and I can't come further now, lol. Great site 10/10.
