I decided today that i was sick of my filter at school.
Usually i would abide the rules but today the fillter whent too far, looking for people who cheated in the Olympic games and it wouldn't even let me search the topic. Bypassing was the only way. it just pisses me off that the tool that they have given us is so restricted that it is usless. So im sending a big F you If you have a good unblocked proxy list it here. |

Do you think that the proxies people would post here will not be blocked by your site admins ?

A good way to get around filters is to use a proxy server. The problem is that many free public proxy IPs are filtered also. One way of getting around this is to setup your own proxy server on your home machine. There are several open source projects on the web that will allow you to do this. Install the proxy on your home machine and then add the proxy settings to your school browser. I will be just like surfing at your home computer. An added benefit is that you can password protect your proxy so no one else could use it. I would highly doubt that your school would filter private ISP address. The down side to this is there is quite a bit of setup and configuration to do on the home machine, I would only recommend this to experienced users. Also you may have problems with a dynamic IP on your home computer, especially if you have DSL. There are also site on the web that will help you get around this. The upshot is it will work every time, from everywhere, is cheep, good bandwidth, and you are not at the mercy of public proxies.

There are certain proxys that can be accesed like w00tage but anything that transtlates pages is blocked.
The other one i found was a leet translator for pages but reading leet for ages gives me a headache the main thing is that the word dosn't spread that this can bypass filters. Because if the n00bs that look up porn will get it blocked because they dont errase history. tansqrx i think its a really good idear but i cant do it. |

There are a number of ways, you could do a google search for free proxies or you can set one up yourself with a hosting account. You can find all you need to on google.
Another way is to use the ip addresses, ping the domain name and it should come out with the ip, then put the ip in the address bar (for example: http://201.200.6.41). I would go with setting up your own private proxy because you are pretty much sure that it wont be blocked. -HellFire |

A good proxy site is apoxy.tv But I'm not sure if that would work for your school. Try easy-prxy which is pretty good.
A response to Hellfire: How do i ping the domain name of the website to get the IP Address? Also, is there an open-source script that I could use so I could host it on my website? |

If you have it on your home computer, it has to be on. If you have it on your website, they have to allow it which is unlikely.
I have two atm (not going to school so don't need them anyway) http://www.spaceproxies.com/ http://www.de-bo.com/sekrat/ |

I have a proxy for those special times but it's password protected and I give my friends accounts so they can use it. QUOTE Does your school block google? for example, try to use use google translate as a proxy? Just translate a page to English and it will be something like a proxy? Quatrux, Bess also blocks translators due to this reason. **HINT!!** Bess will allow you to view SOME sites cached by Google!! This works well with free host blocks and generally anything else. If all else fails, find your school's service provider or main server room and beat the Bess server with a sledge hammer. Bess is the only dog I wouldn't mind getting run over on a highway.... Anyway, noddy, Bess will also find keywords in searches as well. "cheaters" or "cheat" is probably a keyword in your school's keyword block list.
