Wow, thank you so very much. I have done many searches in the past and found only a few good mmorpg engines, and you somehow came across this one. Great work. Are you already good at mmorpg work, or perhaps just starting?

Sounds quite interesting. I've toyed with the idea of doing my own "daily 5 minites" browser based game. Something like Planetarion or Dominion but probably of something completely different topics.


I checked their forum for example games. Some look quite neat from the screenshots. And then some are utter crap, but what can you expect from this kind of system.

Anyways if I happen to have time (i.e. no work) and it rains a lot at summer (very likely if I'm on holiday) I might give it a go. I've got couple of frieds who are quite MMORPG involved and I'm sure they'll be feeding me ideas once they hear about this.

hmmm, great link ! been checking eclipse, would anyone here be interested in making a mmorpg ? we could ask astahost to host the server, that would be nice, i have some experience in game making.

This is an excellent idea! Now just think: Every single one of us users donating, say 10megs of our storage. It isn't much at all but if Opaque would agree to take that 10 megs from each of us who agree to the idea, and add it to a storage-storage bin, we should end up with like 2 gigs of space just for the game. I'm not sure if that's all we're considering but this could be an add-on to the current IPB gaming boards but instead, it's an MMORPG. Anyone have any ideas?

we could make a team request for leaders, like 2/3 persons in charge of each department of the game (audio, graphics, gameplay, code, etc..)

and then the ones who wanted to help could send content or ideias trough the people in charge of each department, we could sketch some stuff up, would be nice if we picked this thread for brainstorming, i dont know how to do it but someone could start a poll for we to see if there are people interested in making an astahost mmorpg, cool hun ? haha

but we could search for more mmorpg engines, and then decide in group, would be really cool to make a comunity project like this !

If you guys do get a place to host that game, and are considering of how we may get the game art, I would be of some help. I am not sure how much of time and effort I can put into it, but I surely would like to put some contribution into it.
