I got a new LinkSys router to replace my D-Link router which flipped out after a firmware upgrade. I'm only having a few problems:
1) My Netgear switch won't connect (I can't get into the configuration screens to re-configure it) but I'm going to get a for sure working LinkSys Wireless bridge
2) A weird problem in which I'll describe below:

I can only access the Internet wirelessly on my laptop. If I plug in an ethernet cable, NO INTERNET... Wireless where I am in my house is terrible.. Right now, signal status is "Low" but if I sit on the floor by my door, it goes to "good".

I have a network connection when I plug in through ethernet but I can only access basically the LAN (router configuration pages).

Anyone know of a fix? wacko.gif

I just moved out into the living room and switched from my 50ft cable to a 5 ft into the router and it freaking works!!!

I am sick of this!! I like the router and all but I don't want to keep doing this!!! I hate D-Link but I'm tempted to return the router for another... at least D-Link works as long as you don't touch it!!!

Gah!!!! mad.gif

Ok, LinkSys tech support had me do some things. For now, it seems to be working. If I get word from my parents that they didn't lose connection during the day (wireless or wired) until 24 hours from which I "fixed" the problem, I shouldn't need assistance.

I've been on for about 2 hours now with no problems yet.
