Once again Microsoft screws over lots of people and tries to force their standards rather than accepting what everyone else wants. It really, really annoys me that they get away with things like this. I can see a lot of people who use Linux possibly moving back to Windows if Microsoft was more open, and didn't try to use only their APIs. They are abusing their position. If developers want to use OpenGL, then let them. Don't for many of them to learn DirectX. This is going to KILL the performance of lots of games that use OpenGL. I really hope that some of the big name developers can change this. I'm learning OpenGL, I would really like to try some game programming for multiple OSs, but if this happens then I'm going to find getting a decent frame rate in Vista when its out, which will really put me off even trying.

Merge it with my Topic in the Operating systems section ?

If not, ill add the link to the origonal topic, It discusses how MS refusal to support native OpenGL will effect even Apple MAC users.
