Not to sure if someone would liek to to but I need someone who can make website or has the knowlegde of how to and can teach me or help me make a text based online game. Post here if your interested. I want make like a rpg game and have s little animation like when the player battle, something like the fighting in the game fire emblem. Maybe not the long because they would want to fight a lot and that would slow them down but its a idea. And make areas where you shop for items and a place where you heal and other game options a lot of F2P text based online games have.

I hate to tell you, but you'll need more than just HTML to make an RPG. You'd probably have to know a fair bit of Java and Visual Basic at the least. You'd probably need someone working with you to make that. It's not like it's a easy skill anyone can teach or learn.

He wants to make a online rpg, why would you need visual basic for that. I think using PHP and maybe some flash-stuff should be sufficient. I'll think about it, i don't know if i got enough time.

You did mean those good old real text adventures, didn't you?

a fighting/rpg where you can fight other membes and go on quest, I also want to add other features. Like a arena where you can challenge other players and/ or fight a npc and place a bet. But the betting might have a cap or a set bet. Something like that.

have you try java? yahoo use applets in thier online games.
a php, js, flash will work but at this time developers have created a single player games. may be there is but can't find one.

lol, I really have no idea what you just said. But at the moment I'm tryingto get a website from here and then will use apache to do the work on it, I'm using php. I'm new at it so I'm learning as I go. Thats why I was asking for help. What do you mean developed single player games? Maybe I just didn't catch what you meant. Well still looking for help.

it would take alot of time and yes you do need java/visual basic knowledge to beable to make a game like that as i very much doubt it could be done in flash and if so it would be very hard to do.

try reading/downloading some visual basic coding and then you might get a idea of what u gotta do but will take you along time to learn it =/

Well, it depends on what type of game you want. But I think http://www.onrpg.com/ may help you some on your search. There are ways of making an rpg in Flash but it would take ages to actually have good graphics, not to mention the amount of ActionScript it would take to generate such a game. This is a very very basic tutorial on an RPG in Flash (the graphics are horrid honestly), it starts off with explaining how to plan the game in that aspect I really do like this article/tutorial.

You could also look into a MUD, which is an online text based RPG with what you've just listed as things you wanted to incorporate in your game. However, I do think it requires you to actually purchase special hosting for this. But it is worth the look. I've looked into it at one point, but then decided against it, mainly because most *is* coding.

lhunath (a member on this site) si working on such a project with his friends or peers, not sure. but it seems that you would need quit a number of people to do this, and thats only if you're making a online game that is texte based, whwere there is no interaction of 3d or 2d characters. If you wanted interaction that would take some serious programming, and would most likely need java, and other similar languages, not to mention flash.

I suggest you read up on the basics of php b4 you attempt to make a text based game. And maybe if you do want to make the game, you get a group of people who would be willing to do it with you and share your opinion on the game. A good idea for this would be if you could get 15memebers together and apply for the group hosting package. This package gives you a free domain name, plus 1gb of space and many other features

But they would have to know programming and be willing to share the account with you.
