Now, I've been considering getting on old Clamshell-style iBook, so I was wondering: anyone know of a good Linux distro, available for PowerPC chip architechture, with specs similar to these?

Ubuntu or Kubuntu are great distros for the PPC architecture.

luckily then, you only need to endure the installer once, and after 10 minutes, the nightmares over.

But seriously... you wont find a more simple installer than Ubuntu.

if you really like horror stories, take a look at the Linux From Scratch installer smile.gif

Hmm...well, come to think of it, I know a Linux geek, and maybe he'd install Kubuntu for me. But, Yellow Dog is supposed to be easy to configure for dialup modems. I'd plan on boosting RAM anyway....but then there's the risk of my sound not working (If I went with Yellow Dog, that is).

Of course, I could always just get a used IBM ThinkPad for $350-$400 from that Linux-lover friend, with MEPIS installed..... tongue.gif
