The latest stable version of the Linux kernel 2.6.24 has just been released.
http://kernel.org/ This kernel brings a lot of changes (the changelog is HUGE). According to Linus, most of the stuff is one-liners, and mostly not very exciting ones at that. There is however a new BroadCom driver, b43, a continuation of the existing bcm43xx driver, you will notice a significant performance improvement when you switch. _________________________________ http://dserban01.googlepages.com/linkedin....abap.basis.html This post has been edited by dserban: Jun 3 2008, 07:18 PM |

I think upgrade whenever Ubuntu upgrades. I am not familiar with the technical parts of Linux and I do not want to damage my distribution, although my files are stored on another.

I would recommend those who know how to compile the kernel to compile it then, than to wait for the distros to do it, which would take a while.
