Recently, I purchased managed DNS for my TLD (maxotek.net), just to see if I could manually get the IP address to point to the new Gamma server IP address. The Managed DNS feature requires that I change the Name servers to:-

WHIZ.EARTH.ORDERBOX-DNS.COM
WHIZ.MARS.ORDERBOX-DNS.COM
WHIZ.MERCURY.ORDERBOX-DNS.COM
WHIZ.VENUS.ORDERBOX-DNS.COM

Being hosted at Asta, the name servers are required to point to:-

NS.COMPUTINGHOST.COM
NS2.COMPUTINGHOST.COM

Because, there were many slots for the name servers I appended the former name servers to the list. My question is that, will the simultaneous existence of all these name-servers cause any problem, considering they are from different providers - ComputingHost.com and Whiz.in.

Most likely there will be problem. The many slots for DNS servers are, beyond the first 2, just lower priority ones, if I'm correct. Also, whilst some hosts do support domains which are using different DNS servers with the A-Record pointed to the host, I don't think astahost allows it.

So, what does a Nameserver exactly do? If I remove the Computing Host nameservers, can I use the Managed DNS Nameservers provided by my domain registrar to make the domain work properly with Astahost?

[Edit]
My Domain Management tool lists the following:-

Note: The nameservers below may not appear in the same order as you entered them. The order is not important and will not affect your domain name resolution in any manner.
