For some reason FTP does not work on my computer if you know why this may be please let me know!
I have tried the following

• using a FTP program
• Allowing FTP under my virus manager

check your credits. Negative credits will suspend the account, so cpanel won't work, therefore, ftp will suck, too.

Can you connect to your cpanel ? Does the file manager in the cpanel do the job ?
By the way, were you successful using ftp on your computer ? Or is it the first time you use ftp with astahost ?
Remember the old stupid way still works :
In the Windows or Linux command line window, type
ftp yourname.astahost.com
user: your cpanel user
password : your cpanel password

If this does not work, there is probably a network problem between your PC and the gamma server at Xisto corp. And the problem is most probably your PC's firewall settings.

For my account FTP server works fine..

By the way, if you have negative credits and your account is suspended, as I know you can access your account with FTP and you can even login to CPanel, you just can't show any http or https content, it just redirects to the account is suspended page.. And thats logical, imagine you have negative credits, your account is suspended, but you want to backup your mysql, receive/download your files on the account to put them somewhere else or backup everything and whatever..

Habble, I think that your credits are currently above 4. They are not negative, so your problem is from elsewhere.

Try using a different FTP client or connecting through Windows Explorer. If cPanel works ok, this may be an FTP problem.

In Windows Explorer (this is assuming you are using Windows XP):
1. Open My Network Places
2. Make a new network place
3. Type in your account details.
4. When done, double click on the network place and type in your password when prompted.
5. If that works, it is a problem with your FTP client.

If you aren't using Windows XP, go into Internet Explorer, type in ftp://yourusername@yourdomain.com/.

If you determine it to be a client problem, try using FireFTP for Firefox.

try to use cuteftp i think it will work fine

ouch ! what's happening ? My ftp account at astahost also stopped working !

I'm pretty sure that's because the whole gamma server is offline, hopefully all the problems will be fixed soon.
